For antivirus/spyware try Avast or AVG (both free for home use).

for spyware and trojans i tend to use Spybot

If you've deffo got spyware and Trojans on the laptop if you use it for on-line banking/shopping the best thing to do is reformat it IMO!

spybot search and destroy is good, if a little clunky to use. install it, update it, immunize ( sic ), scan, follow the recommendations, then go into the options and select 'scan at next system start', then restart and scan the machine again. it'll take a little while but should get everything out.
it is not an anti virus program though. for that use avg or avast as above.
