We will be in touch
Sat here thinking, hmm, my nose is a bit sore. Checked in a mirror and I've a huge custardy zit growing out of my face like a second head. God knows how long that's been there.
Is this an age thing? Post-puberty I only seem to get them in really mental, inconvenient places like inside my earhole or on my bloody eyelid.
What do other readers think?
Symptoms of bad aids *ianad
50 here and still get them.
I get them either middle of the nose, or between the eyebrows like a third eye.
Frightens small children and dogs.
You turned back into a teenager when you saw that new Avengers Lego set 😛
I turned 40 and I ended up going through second puberty, no kidding. It's quite common I was told, ended up having acne and spurts of hair growth. Ended up so bad I had a course of tablets (Rackitain, sp) to get rid of the excess sebum which made my joints dry up and skin dry up too.
No laughing matter I can assure you.
Anyways, 6mths after starting the course I came out fine. Still get the occasional zit, spot, grease mark but it's no where near it used to be.
You can get the NHS to help out if it's too bad you know..

You might have had a point there, if I'd ever stopped in the first place. (-:

That sounds unpleasant. And worrying!
cleanse, exfoliate moisturise.
X
Because I'm worth it.
Actually, that's a point.
What's the point of removing all the moisture from your skin just to slather it straight back on again? (See also, shampoo and conditioner, and drawn-back-on plucked eyebrows.)
my dried up skin needs all the help it can get!

Tried all that crap & it doesn't work on me. I'm 58, yes, 50 bloody 8 & am spottier than Jack McSpotty from Spotsville. I get a rash on my forehead & on the left side of my face & other spurious zits too. Been to the docs who thought it was Herpes simplex so gave me antibiotics which did nowt, the chemist thought it was shingles but I've no pain & it appears regularly.
I'm just pleased I'm not in the market for a new woman!
(I think It's all stress related)
I currently have one masquerading as a third nipple...dead centre it is....couldnt have measured it better with one of fancy laser measuring thingies. Not a bodypart (for a man anyway) where you ever think that an extra one would come in handy.
i have just got rid of scabies. had them since xmas.
proper nasty horrible spots.
Eat clean, live clean - pretty simple really 🙄
That's me buggered, then.

You can get detox spots, have you changed your diet recently, cut out booze or crisps or summit?

You mean I should carry on with the booze and salty snacks for the good of my skin?
Oh, happy day!

Try cutting out milk/cheese/butter for a bit. It might not be the cause, but a week or so without would show pretty conclusively whether it was a cause or not. Unfortunately you have to go proper-all-out milk avoidance - read the labels on everything you buy (theres skimmed milk powder in fricking everything) and bread (which doesn't have listed ingredients but often has milk or milk powder in it) and avoid catered food (unless its marked dairy free) at least when you're testing the theory.
With some people (me included) there seems to be an intolerance to hormones in milk and the result is your skin swelling- its imperceptible but the result it pores being more prone to blocking. Its also imperceptible because until you cut out milk its all you've ever known so you don't realise that skin is quite sore until suddenly it isn't. Its not a lactose thing so ignore any lacto-free products, whatever the mystery ingredient is its more present in the milk than the cream, so skimmed milk is more of and irritant than double cream.
However if its not milk its probably a gypsy curse.

You may have some form of lactose intolerance, or Something Else, but there are no "hormones" in milk in the UK.
maybe not - its not lactose though - its another component in milk.
The good news is that cutting dairy really works for me, the bad news is that having cut it I'm more symptomatic when I have milk again than before it stopped
