You don't have to give them access to the email. You control it.

This is true, but if you have the KIDS tablet (i.e. the control turned on) you can't get spotify working (well i couldn't anyway), so you need to have them running a "vanilla" fire tablet. You then have to link the accounts through Alexa by getting a code which otherwise it will default to your spotify version (assuming the tablets are currnetly linked to your amazon account).

if someone says this isn't the case, please tell me how to do it becasue ive found the kindles to be a massive pain in the back side..

If you have Gmail you can add a + to your address and create a unique address that will still come to you.

E.g. "stevied+daughter1@gmail.com"

Also useful for working out who's selling your email address to spammers

E.g. "stevied+stw@gmail.com"
