Apart from their lagers which are disgusting and their stout which is minging too.
Only drink ales!
Hi Kimbers..... He was indeed a "sausage roll maker." (and a part-time teacher) It is reported that he was instrumental in building up the business and is still a share holder. He will come out of prison at some stage (in 6 years I think) and will continue to live a very comfortable life on the dividends, all paid for by unknowing customers who think Greggs is awesome cuz they have a large high-street presence and do "amazing" steak bakes.
Apart from their lagers
What!! Sam Smith's pure brew organic lager is manner from heaven. It's my go to recovery lager after a tough night, I'm pretty sure it has the same qualities as isotonic lucozade only with alcohol...

🤤
LOL "Manner from heaven...""
Are you from the West Country?
@Simon_Semtex Warrington bloke in Derbyshire, but probably a hangover from my service time with some of the finest janner's you could ever meet. Anything with alcohol was manner from heaven, but they deserved it.
My local Spoons regularly gets stink bombed which honestly amuses the hell out of me.😆
I dont mind 'em, theyre a safe option. Found them to be a bloody godsend when I used to work away though, cos when you've been on site for 12hrs and only get £10-15 daily food allowance a burger, chips and a pint for 8 quid does the job nicely thanks.
LOL..... Janna!
Pubs now are either way too loud with music or are just some kind of wanna-be posers bar where beer is 9 quid a pint.
That's nonsense. There are loads of good small bars, many run by the owners, serving excellent beers at reasonable prices and no shit background noise.
Pizza Express of pubs.
Without the VC debt loading.
They serve a purpose, the beer and food is cheap. The cellars are clean, tidy and well maintained.
Staff can be hit and miss but its a nmw role, managers on more but they certainly earn it.
No short dated beer, that a an urban myth from the hatetz. 3 weeks minimum on delivery for ales, more for kegs.
Yes they don't pay much, and have a national bracketed pricing structure. You are asked to tender once a year, for a year.
The price is wholesale money, but beer is direct delivered. It's the volume driven end of the market. They will not buy short dated stock.
80p a pint input if you really want to know, give or take. Each jdw has to put through a volume of ales from the majors. Courage best, Spitfire and bishops tipple or similar. If they are over target then they can have more guest pumps, below then less
I’m sat in one now in Weymouth on my third coffee after walking the dogs on the beach. I’m in the Swan that doesn’t allow kids in at anytime. Brilliant! They have the William Henry just up the roads for the breeders to take their screaming spawn.
I wonder if a similar “moral red line” can be drawn when it comes to bakeries and Colin Greggs conviction reported in the press in 2017?
I hadn't heard about that before either. I would certainly boycott Greggs if they had "Bored?
Why not interfere with children?" posters up in their branches.
Stop bloody arguing 😵
Jesus. Someone relates a wee tale about enjoying decent quality, cheap beer and food and this place goes off like a prison wing.
Pathetic.
Bit dramatic. Hardly an argument is it, just a discussion on the merits (or lack of) of a chain of pubs.
I avoid Gregg's because I'm not a fat tramp. Quite simple really.
This thread does rather highlight the absolutist bellendery that makes social media either fun or a nightmare. 🙂
