You? Although I presume you don't have one as that wouldn't suit your off grid stick it to the man lifestyle.
You do appear to be a little bit sensitive. I was joking about the dull conformity and quiet desperation thing, but it seems I hit home. Anyway, instead of arguing on here with me, shouldn't you be on washing line patrol? Don't forget your clipboard.

My deeds ban left hand drive cars because we live down a one way street.
I never used to have a problem with one-way streets in my LHD car!
Not at all, because people don't fit into your 'vision' you've invoked the edinburgh defence.
So what car do you drive?

I got a ban for using the second word in the title of this thread.
No you didn't.
Trumpy's right: FAKE NEWS! Captain big bolleaux, guilty as charged. Get to your room and no pudding/happy endings for you. 🙂

Yes, it's quite obvious that you're not at all sensitive, what with your continual edits and shouty capitals. If you're perfectly happy with your Barratts noddy box, then there's really no need to keep justifying yourself to me.
I'm not perfectly happy, I'm incredibly happy, I have an amazing family and a wonderful life. I have all the money I'll ever need and am incredibly fulfilled.
I wonder what kind of skoda you drive?

I'm delighted for you. Now, if you work a bit harder, you'll be able to trade in that Honda for an Audi, and your life will be complete.
It's not what he said, it's how he said it.

My old road was like this - no rotary lines, no fences, etc... you should see it now (erm, 30 years later), big ugly reed fences, gardens full of crap, washing lines everywhere. It does look a bloody state mind.
My life couldn't be more complete than it is right now. You aspire to an audi though as you seem obsessed by them.

You lot are a bit sensitive today - did somebody park a foreign car in your way?
Don't ruin it yunki

So you keep saying. And I believe you.

No, he's incredibly happy. Can't you tell? 🙂

He's buoyed by the discovery that one of his neighbours failed to paint their fence in the regulation colour.
I'm annoying my neighbours by having a messy looking house without breaking any of the covenants on our deeds.
The ban is specifically to stop people taking up space with vehicles/caravans that sit there for months at a time without moving and taking up space that others may use.
Every house has a driveway and/or garage however currently there isn't a single one that only has one vehicle.
One in particular has 6 - three of which are commercials as they operate a building company from their house - with their employees parking in the close each morning to go to work. Another thing specifically prohibited on the deeds.
As for enforcement - it's legally enforceable here due to the way the deeds/purchasing was done. One motor home was moved in the last few months due to the covenants.
As for my "foreign vehicle" - it's the car I keep at the house in Italy. Drove it back recently full of kit with the return trip taking out stuff that will stay there permanently.
Now not happening until at least January unfortunately.
The car however won't be staying there - it's going into storage or for sale yet has been parked in its current position for all of three days! He's already reported it once as abandoned a few weeks back because it hadn't moved for 5 days. Council were happy then it was fine and parked spot on, yet it's fine for him to park his 20+ft caravan across the front of 3 properties for months, hooked up to a trailing lead in the road....
Bloke is a prize bell end - I'd use t*unt but someone seems to have already seen fit to edit the thread title for some reason.
I'm back tomorrow but as far as the council are concerned it's Saturday and I have no intention of moving my perfectly legally parked vehicle until then - might even be Sunday... or Monday....
Steering (see what I did there) back towards the topic.
The op referred to his foreign car, I'm assuming he has a foreign registered car in which case there are rules against keeping such a vehicle on UK roads for more than 6 months in a 12 month period. If his neighbour is aware of this, he may decide to make life difficult as the car will have to be re-registered.
A chap we know living in Cataluña visited family in Leicester twice in a year, each time staying a couple of weeks. On the second visit, his Spanish registered car was towed away and he had to pay to reclaim it. He had to prove that he'd been back to Spain in the intervening period in order to get the fine overturned. Conversely, we have friends who've lived here several years, driving UK registered cars with no hassle.
Edit, op's explanation answers all.
He's already reported it once as abandoned a few weeks back because it hadn't moved for 5 days.
Years back, I had this. I was keeping my girlfriend's car at my place because she had broken her collarbone, and I hadn't moved it for a whole week. I was renting on one of "those" estates at the time and it seems I fell foul of some petty rule.
living lives of quiet desperation.
STW motto.
It's been in the country lees than 3mths so let's not try that one.
I'm fully aware of the "rules" on foreign vehicles. All the documents, toll receipts, ferry, etc are in a folder in my safe ready to either go back with it or with the new owner if it goes.
Well aware too of the ways to avoid ITV, matriculation, etc.
Shirley the mention of foreign car (meaning one with foreign plates, rather than not a Wolsely) is purely to identify the car? Too simple?
My lease bans me from having more than one piano, and the feet must be on some kind of isolator. That'll all change when I buy my gite in Brittany/Skye/Deauville.
Do these "petty rules" on estates have any meaningful legal status?
I mean, it's easy enough to write restrictions into house deeds, but unless the restrictions are clearly signposted then how would the rest of the world know they existed? I don't think I've ever seen a "left-hand drive vehicles prohibited" sign.
Well aware too of the ways to avoid ITV, matriculation, etc.
I bet you don't even have a television licence.
Do these "petty rules" on estates have any meaningful legal status?
No idea and I don't know what the rules are on the estate I live on, but they're probably just standard. I know there's a no rotary drier policy on the rental flats I have but they all have shared gardens so you can understand that and I guess with non designated parking being limited then people might feel the need to try to enforce rules if for example a caravan is taking one up.
if only cars had some identifying plate on them to make them easy to differentiate.Shirley the mention of foreign car (meaning one with foreign plates, rather than not a Wolsely) is purely to identify the car? Too simple?

Ahh but Farage isn't PM,yet.
Hammy, wasn't sure if you knew the rules and our posts crossed, we weren't when we moved to Spain 2 years ago.
12yrs in Spain bud - ex used to run a business specifically helping new residents apply for residencia, importing belongings, matriculation, car purchases , etc.
Aware of the rules here too as ended up selling my 90 back to the dealer for more than I bought it for before moving back and using the money to start again as it was easier. (That and oissing off the head of Guy Salmon opposite the LR factory at the time by being able to order a Spanish spec, rhd, SW delivered in the uk for less than he could apparently buy the commercial - walked out without buying a thing due to his attitude)

Wow, spookily relevant Mash article yesterday...
Chickens and Audis
We're in a Barratt new build estate, and I did wonder about the eonforceability of some of these rules, particularly the chickens one...
Is reversing a LHD car up a one way street allowed?
Only clockwise.
I need to know, has the OP spoken to his neighbour about the chicken van? I mean that's what I am guessing this thread is about?.
On the second visit, his Spanish registered car was towed away and he had to pay to reclaim it. He had to prove that he'd been back to Spain in the intervening period in order to get the fine overturned.
Not sure about that. There's this pesky thing about burden of proof falling on the accuser...
Do these "petty rules" on estates have any meaningful legal status?
Read about this last night. Apparently someone who is affected by you breaking the covenant can 'sue' you. But it's costly, so extremely rare.
Someone could sue us for having a caravan on our driveway, but it'd be a bit pointless, since our street is full of so many cars it reminds me of those post-flood scenes with cars all over the place:
Every house has a garage and at least one space in the drive way. Some good people put one car in the garage and one on the drive; some have even widened the driveway to get two on. The annoying buggers however have either converted the garage and then park the second car on the road; can't be bothered to put one car in the garage so then park on the road; or even worse they have two car length driveways but can't even be bothered to shuffle their cars so one is on the road.
Will the OP talk to his neighbour?
Will the OP's neighbour continue to make anonymous phone calls to some local agency who's name I've forgotten?
How many chickens can you fit in an Audi?
Will the OP's stealth add result in a successful sale?
Inquiring minds need to known.
How many chickens can you fit in an Audi?
It'll be baby chicks a-go-go given there's probably a cock already in there.
Surely they'd need to prove some sort of tangible damages costs, as it would be a civil case?
If there weren't a covenant then yes, if I caused someone damages then they could sue for that. But the fact i am breaking the covenant is enough on its own I think.
