[#9549148]

So just get a call from someone I know at the local council.
"We've had a complaint about your foreign vehicle being illegally parked and preventing them getting their car and caravan on the drive...,,"
Really? Says I.
"Afraid so, is it where it usually is?"
Yep, says I.
"Well then don't worry about it as it's not and there's no issue but if it's convenient would you mind perhaps moving it oh ... say 10ft....? Just so we aren't having to waste time on the computer, etc wasting time."
Of course says I - but it'll be Saturday when I'm back.
"That's fine,we just have far more pressing things to deal with than someone who has now called four times this morning, thanks"
Now considering there is a blanket ban on caravans, motor homes and commercial vehicles on the deeds - said complainer needs to be careful as mentioned by the caller.
The fact there is only one house that brings their caravan into the close, taking up three spaces and increasing the already awkward access, also means I know which door to knock tomorrow when I'm back considering they don't have the balls to actually knock mine instead of causing unnecessary grief.

Tempting to both suggestions.....

However their face and backtracking will be fun enough.
Said muppet has already crossed enough residents already with his and his wife's ignorance, poor parking, etc

I is confused - is your foreign vehicle illegally parked, and what has it to do with the council either way?

I've got a Seat and a Ford. I park the Seat on my drive and the Ford on the street. I might do it the other way round and see if there's any car racists on my street.

Spose it's american innit but if you watch the news you'd think that was part of this country anyway.
Reckon the racists won't mind Ford.

Surely STW can get three pages of escalation out of this before the OP ends up so worked up that he owns the neighbours with a set of Bombers?

With Ford's record of airbrushing out black faces and replacing with white guys? How could they possibly mind?

I need a satellite image to better understand and get worked up about the situation.

Maybe we should all chip in to hire a nice big skip?

I got a ban for using the second word in the title of this thread.

Sorry I don't have anything more interesting to add.

*Edit - I see it's changed...! 😆 I didn't report it, by the way.

I'll send you his address and you can pop round and have a look at his battered FOREIGN nissan x-trail blocking the street 🙂

I've heard of this on some modern estates - bans on sign-written vans, keeping poultry, hanging out washing and the like. They like everyone to be neat little conformists, living lives of quiet desperation.

There's a ban on keeping caravans in the deeds of my house. I still have a caravan here. From what I can tell, there's no-one that can actually enforce such a thing, so balls to it.

It's just the 'rules' on new estates, (apart from the hanging out the washing thing) no one would ever enforce them.

Who are 'they' and what is so non-conformist about having a 'sign written van'? 'Look at me in my company van sticking it to the man',

Must have been a deletion and/or warning then.

I hope this is improving my contribution to the thread.

Strictly it should/would be enforced by anyone who thinks they're suffering as a result, i.e. your neighbours, through the civil courts. You can ask them if you can have it removed from the deeds, you just have to pay the legal fees.

"They" are the developers and they market to Audi-driving IT consultants by keeping the riff-raff out.

What car do you drive?

So what word did he get banned for?

I've no idea what CFH is referring to.

He may have got a ban for persistently using problematic language when asked not to, or using it as part of an insult (which would be unlikely unless it was a particularly nasty attack or it wasn't a first offence). But there's no way anyone got banned ever for merely "using a word," not whilst I've got a hole in my arse.

Must have been a deletion and/or warning then.

That would seem far more plausible. It's not something I'd have moderated personally, but someone might've objected to it I suppose.

What car do you drive?

Honda Accord Tourer (about to be traded in for a new ford focus estate)
Suzuki Swift
Citroen 2CV

You? Although I presume you don't have one as that wouldn't suit your off grid stick it to the man lifestyle.

"They" are the developers and they market to Audi-driving IT consultants by keeping the riff-raff out.

It's just normal people that live on new estates you know. I live in a newish estate - neighbours do the following jobs - 2*Nurse practitioners (have a motorhome), guy with maintenance company (has a works van and a CARAVAN), couple that own a chineese restaurant, someone who works in the tax office, policewoman, hgv machanic.
