No debates please, just a question for any of our Scottish members.

My googling hasnt made it clear if its just shoppers or shoppers and shop staff that must wear them?

Thanks guys and gals.

I overheard a member of staff telling a customer that they didn’t have to if they were behind a screen.

However, there is an exemption for staff where 2m physical distancing or Perspex screens are in place.

Well shoppers in England will be from the 24th. Going to be quite a change for most of us, I've seen figures that suggest 25% of people already do but don't see that out and about locally.

Only been in Aldi so far, but it's a newly refurbished store, and all the staff have perspex screens around tills.

We do unless behind the screen at the tills. Choice of masks or the very attractive visor.

Some staff are opting for masks, even when behind screens. It's quite a good move as it makes shoppers feel less self-conscious. I expect this will pass anyway as folk just begin to see it as normal.

The moaning from the English about having to wear masks on 5 live this morning was hilarious, the gammon were on fire!

If they are behind a screen, they don't have to - so in supermarkets, floor walkers should be wearing a mask, but the checkout points don't as they are behind a screen.

Saying that, plenty of examples in my area where that isn't being applied by staff, likewise, a few shops not stopping entry by shoppers who aren't wearing a mask.

There’s a few hardcore numpties going around with their mask under they’re nose. My passive aggressive pointed stare doesn’t seem to move them! 😅 I’ll have to speak up.

It was the same in Scotland, mask wearing in large shops went from hardly anyone to everyone overnight, without shops even handing out masks.

most people are wearing masks in store (my work place) and almost all staff. Masks make my glasses steam up and make breathing more difficult (asthma) so I don't wear one.

Not in my local Tesco mini. None of the shelf stockers, or the manager, have been wearing masks up to and including yesterday and there is no room in the aisles to even consider social distancing. There is a token one way system which everyone ignores.

My other local is in Cults (posh area near Aberdeen) and masks, distancing and generally behaving in a considerate manner are very prevalent. It's an interesting social insight!

If you file such people under the category of "Mouth Breathers" it suddenly becomes less of an issue

Pretty sure you posted a video pushing your bike to the top of Ben Vorlich, surely breathing can't be bad?. Rain-x interior works a treat on glasses.

make breathing more difficult (asthma)

I kinda imagine respiratory infections have a similar effect on everyone.

Not having a go at you personally, but the snowflake & gammons were having a field day on the local Facebook page about how unique and special their circumstances were and/or it was an infringement on their liberty.

I can't wear one because I'm claustrophobic.

I can't wear one because I was choked and it gives me flashbacks and panic attacks.

I can't wear one because it fogs up glasses.

I can't wear one because it would be expensive for a family of 4.

It's amazing how healthy, brave, anti-fogging and rich the rest of the world must be to get past such a long list of problems .....

There was some old gammon on R5 there that claimed wearing a mask would accelerate dementia...
