I have a juddery machine under a work surface. One side wedged against a dishwasher, other has a 6 inch gap to a wall. I need to stop it from juddering against heating and plumbing pipes that run along the wall at the floor level, 4 inches to the side of the machine.
I had hoped to find some mini 'acroprops' to hold it away, but couldn't find any.
Other option was to chock/wedge it somehow with wood, but these fall out.
Any ideas?
Baton screwed to underside of worktop the dimension you want the washing machine to stand out from the wall, check the screws want penetrate top of worktop, so easy to do that.
check washing machine is level use adjustable feet at front.
Should have said, needs to be removable from the narrow gap. Which that idea is.
I like the idea, so a block coming down vertically from under the surface. Do you think the screws would hold, rather than rip out?
Is it possible to fix a block to the floor?
Another possibly is to fix the judder, as it won't be doing the machine any good. Could be worn bearings (can you move the rotating drum within the outer?) or worn drum support struts (these look a bit like upside down versions of car tailgate struts or lightweight car shock absorbers).
The floor solution would be good, but would mean drilling into floor tiles and would be tricky to remove from the front gap I'd think.
glue and screw the block to under the worktop
Aye, find out why the machine judders so much.
