Any recommendations for a biography/autobiography related to space or the test pilots associated with the jet era?
Mike Mullane's "Riding Rockets" is a good read. Interesting insight into the real people involved in the shuttle programme.
Skunk Works by Leo Janos and Ben R Rich, it's about the team who designed and built the SR71 Blackbird spyplane, and some others.
Not really a biography, but 'Moon Dust' is very good.
The Right Stuff is a good read imo.
Thanks for the suggestions, I'll have a look at those.
Has anyone read Michael Collins' "Carrying the Fire"?
+1 for The Right Stuff, really enjoyed that.
Graphic novel? T-Minus by GT Labs, excellent as always from this publisher.
Gave copies of this and Apollo 13 DVD to nephews last Xmas.
Not really a biography, but 'Moon Dust' is very good.
+1
Moon Dust is great. Gene Kranz's "Failure is Not an Option" is worth a read too.
These two articles got published on Ars Technica recently and are a good read for space geeks:

Collin's "Carrying the Fire" is brill. You should also watch "In the Shadow of the Moon" (also on DVD) which heavily features Collins and other other Apollo astronauts narrating.
Also Yeager's biography is real boys-own stuff about an amazing bloke who was in the right place at the right time (the birth of the jet/rocket) age.
As others have said Moondust is a great intro.
