Trouble with STW is that its hive mind is just too good so I end up asking...
Mother in Law wants a TV for her bedroom for Xmas, 22" flatscreen nothing outrageous. Steering her away from Techniker-type offers just in case she gets a dud - but internet not throwing up much that's really grabbing me.
Anyone aware of any "must have" deals? Cheers!
I didn't lose any sleep over detail when I bought a 22" screen for an xbox. They're so cheap nowadays. I just w2ent to tescos and picked up an ASUS from there. It's been great for two years.
I did the same for the kitchen TV although got that one from Sainsburys.
Fair enough you're probly right - when it's for someone else and for a gift you just want to make sure you're not setting up for a fail I guess.
Can't fault Samsung, although I may be wrong

The ASUS one has been great. Quality on the dodgy brand from sainsburys isn't as good so I'd say just pick a known brand from Amazon and you'll be fine.
Something like this would be awesome.

I bought this last month, and has been brilliant(especially usb playback of divx, hd-files etc.)
But I've had Toshiba in the past, and at that price buy the one reccommended by samurai.
Toshiba are very reliable, but the LG does come with a 3yr manufacturer warranty.
