I’ve been given authorisation to get a pair of the Sony noise cancelling headphones.

The prices seem to be pretty consistent across the usual shops but I’ve seen them for £199 from techinthebasket.

Has anyone used these to purchase electrical items. They popped up on my search on the first page so thougt I’d ask.

Anywhere else I should look?

The XM4 is being released soon, so watch for discounts on the XM3.

Am going to try a pair out to see if they're worth the upgrade from my Bose.

FWIW, I usually buy electrical stuff at John Lewis. Price matching is one reason, the other is the excellent warranty/back up service they provide.

Had no idea an updated set was due out.

Hopefully there will be some reductions soon.

Agree with John Lewis, their extended warranty is excellent.

Fantastic headphones apart from only being able to connect to one device and being a faff to switch to another. The XM4 resolves this.

It's not really a faff to reconnect to another device, you just turn them off, turn it on and hold the button down to get pairing mode, then you select them from the new device you want. Ok so it's not great but it's not really difficult

Didn't say it was difficult. Compared to other headphones where you don't have to do anything it's a faff

Being to connect to only one device isn’t an issue for me.

Are there any flashy lights on them? I have a pair of akg y50bt headphones and there’s a flashing blue light that annoys when watching films on the iPad at night.

Ended up putting some insulation tape over the light.

First world problems I know.

I bought both the Bose QC35's and the Sonys. I like the look and feel of the Bose more, but the Sony's have better noise cancelling (not much in it my opinion). I find the Bose are lighter too. Anyway, both are extraordinary headphones. You won't be disappointed with the Sony's.

I don't think they price match websites, just bricks & mortar shops, do they? Could be wrong but I doubt they're going to match the price on the site in the OP.
