Somewhere To Eat - M5 Worcester/Gloucester/Cheltenham way..

Travelling down to Devon on Thursday night and given its the wife's birthday thought I'd try and find somewhere a little more glamorous than our usual go-to of Gloucester services for a pie (although that is awesome).

So, does anyone have any suggestions that might be a mile or two from a junction on the M5? A nice'ish pub would do, hell even a chain pub place would probably do. Other stipulation is that it needs to be dog friendly.

Any ideas?

I like the Bear at Rodbourgh. Most of the places i tend to go in Cheltenham fail when you mention dog.

I got all excited about Beefy Boys too - their reputation is known even up here in Yorkshire! Could just leave the dog tied up outside 😀

Beefy Boys do sometimes do a pop up at Gloucester Docks. Which by virtue of being outside is dog friendly.

They also have a few outside seats. You'll need to book though.

Primrose vail farm shop is my go-to as a motorway service alternative if you're just looking for a short stop

If you can head 20 miles off the motorway I would recommend The Fleece at Bretforton.

    Fleet, Twyning

Came here to add this. 5-10 mins from junction 8. Overlooking the river Avon, usually boats moored up, people SUP'ing. Not tried the food, but always looks good.

One of my absolute favourite pub stops when I'm in the area, love it.

You can actually see it from the elevated section of the M5 just south of Strensham services/J8

My local is the Queen's Head at Stoke Pound, a nice canalside setting less than 10 mins from J5, M5.

Looks perfect. Will give them a bell later to book a table and make sure the dog can be accommodated.

Alternatively the Gloucester Old Spot, Cheltenham. Literally just off J10. Dog friendly.
