Phillips is currently injured himself, as is Grealish, you just don’t notice it with City!

Ohh is he? I didn't realise - I thought he played a few minutes as a sub a couple of games ago?

Edit - he was an unused sub against Newcastle so apparently fit again after being injured in the friendly.

I reckon most teams will be putting their reserves out or possibly even their under 18’s by January

Excellent, even with my arthritic knee I might get a game.
Apparently, Harry Rednapp once called out a heckling supporter, gave him some boots and the lumbering ox scored. Was a friendly though.

Liverpool losing more ground again, at least they've moved above ManU on goal difference, at least until they play tomorrow 😂

Looks like we’re going to have a fight on our hands for that Europa Conference League place 😂

On R5 at lunchtime - Liverpool need to win all but four of their remaining games to match their 21/22 points total. Making note of course that they didn't win the league with that total last year. And City didn't have Haaland.

Bookies might as well pay out already.

I think a better bet might be Liverpool to finish out the top four.

Good to see VAR not causing any controversy as well 😂

Another win for spurs, although judging by the score line and stats, another game where they are yet to fire on all cylinders. If they don't start soon then they'll start dropping more points, Inn fact the draw at wet spam felt like 2 dropped.

Etihad and Emirates trips in the next 2 games, Leicester at home in between. We need to be firing on all cylinders to get more then 3 points from those three.

Yep, Arsenal not played anyone yet either but tough run coming up. City profligate tonight! Hope for the rest?

Was also good to see Celtic humping Rangers today, do miss not being up there with the season ticket for games like that 😁

Oh yes! However hopefully not humped by Franco's team next week.

There's a good chance we could be, hopefully we do a bit better than recent years in Europe, when i had the season ticket i got to see us beat Barca, draw with ManU and so on, but that was in the days before the likes of Stoke had the same spending power as us 😂

I always argue with my English mates that if Celtic were in the Premier League they'd have massive spending power.

Watching MOTD there has been some absolutely outstanding goalkeeping on display today.

@binners - what's your prediction for Utd v Arsenal today?

God only knows?! Depends which United turn up
And whether Arsenal revert to type or not.

I’m hoping Martinez gives a Jesus a ‘reducer’ in the first couple of minutes and we can take it from there.

If Ronnie is on and Arsenal insist on playing it out from the back then you’d think there would be opportunities to be had

Should be a cracking match this though

There you go… I’ve just said it and cursed us all to a nil nil 😂

And Martinez does precisely that! And got away without a card too. Excellent!

Let’s have it! 😂

A proper United v Arsenal match

It’s been a while

Top notch first half. The second should be pretty full on.

He’s an absolute liability. He comes on and is booked within seconds and gives away a free kick on the edge of the box

That was a cracking game. Arteta’s second half substitutions we’re utterly insane! Almost insulting and got punished as they deserved to be

I’m happy with that performance after our truly dismal start to the season. Chuffed for Marcus. 2 goals and an assist and just a brilliant match. He needed that. Hopefully he’ll kick on from that now

I stuck an optimistic few quid on a United win too at 3/1 😃

And I seem to recall binners had United down for a relegation battle after 3 games..... It's still a long season and may pan out that way, but I bet he thinks they're city's closest challengers now 🤣

Always good to see the gooners lose and nice to see them brought down a peg after a flier of a start. Looking quite close across the top 6 or so... All the big teams have had some strong performances and some much more iffy ones.

Now it's Wednesday night football next. Marseille come to North London. Those of us in cl now play twice a week until the November break. Yikes.

Not unless I’ve been smoking crack 😂

It’s just good to see such a massive improvement, but we’re still totally hit and miss. We could/should have lost to Southampton. We’re a long way off delivering performances like that with any consistency

As a United fan it’s just nice to watch a match without my head in my hands while unloading a deluge of abuse at Harry Maguire

Trust me… we’ve not allowed ourselves to feel smug for about ten years

Granted, we were smug as **** for over ten years prior to that 😂

Just popping out from the thrashing machines that are the neverending politics threads to say there's football on tonight.

Tuchel would be on thin ice if Abramovich was still in charge. An awful lot of money spent.

Bonkers... completely bonkers... give him millions upon millions to spend.... then can him after a few games of spending it and building a squad... Football, the most bemusing thing on the planet

That is mad. Allow him to buy the players he wants for mega-money. Then bring in another manager who undoubtedly will want to mould the team differently.

Well, Brendan Rodgers will be available shortly.

Unless there's some serious dressing room unrest that can't be resolved then it's mad to act so quickly. It was bound to take some time to gel as a squad with so much change over the summer.

Thoroughly deserved. Quite frankly if Tuchel cannot win every game and match City whilst incorporating 200m of talent in 5 weeks he must be incompetent. He'll get a job somewhere else and excel as he's a good manager.

I didn't see that coming.

Well, Brendan Rodgers will be available shortly.

Yeah - after their start I thought he was going to be the first casualty.
