Clearing out a deceased relative’s flat. Having successfully sold his gas mask we are presented with the next challenge. Disposing of his “art”.
First up is a rather large original painting of Speedway legend Peter Collins. AI would suggest that similar pieces by the same artist go for about £500. The issue will be finding the right audience. I guess I’m going to have to join a Speedway forum for this one.
The other could be more of a challenge. A signed limited edition print of a street scene in the style of L.S. Lowry…by Rolf Harris.
Hoping to find Hitler water colour and a Jim’ll Fix It badge.
ChatGPT says Rolf's work still has some value, maybe a couple of hundred quid. (surprisingly it says it dropped in value by after his 2014 conviction. Well colour me shocked!)
I very nearly bought one of those Rolf Harris prints in the early 2010's. Luckily my missis was in opinion distance to make my mind up for me.
This has just unlocked a memory of finding a Jim’ll Fix It badge whilst playing in some demolished buildings in the late80s/early 90s.
Can you tell what is yet?
Given that it is a pastiche of a Lowry... no I can't.
I keep being told by everyone that my dad's prints are worthless even the signed ones as people who want a print can usually afford, plus prefer to, but one new.
Wonder if the Planet X guy ever got rid of those Savile bikes he bought?
Did he add to the 'worst money I ever spent ' thread?🤣
a Jim’ll Fix It badge.
You'll no doubt be 'shocked' to learn that original "Jim fixed it for me" badges are still collectible. There are some sick ****ers out there. I had a Crackerjack pen. My dad threw it in the bin when he cleared out my room as it 'didn't write' Thanks dad.
There are some sick ****ers out there
That reminds me, I really must visit Littledean Jail next time I go to FoD
Wouldn’t surprise me if they had a Rolf Harris gallery
Can you tell what is yet?
I think one of Rolf's most unforgivable crimes is not having the wit to crowbar his catch phrase into any of the episodes of Animal Hospital
