[Closed] So, I now own a pair of cowboy boots. Anyone else? Is this the start of the end?

Grinders. Dark brown, leather soled, discreet and cool 8)

Should I start line dancing and key-in-bowl parties?

mmm. Looking at that picture of Brokeback Mountain I think I'm actually going to go out and get myself a pair of boots.

Jake Gyllenhaal. Oh yes.

Jake Gyllenhaal
He's ugly IMO. If I was that way inclined I reckon the bad guy out of 'The Mummy' is more smouldering?

I've always liked cowboy boots- worn discreetly under good jeans and worn in they can look good.

I guess you have to be really comfortable with yourself and what you like to wear something that isn't really fashionable for males to wear.

I bought a pair of black cowboy boots from Dans Boots and Saddles in Albuquerque when I was cruising about New Mexico on a big Harley but the laws of common decency means that they have sat in the bottom of my wardrobe since I came back.

Hora.....never wear them in public (or private for that matter) but leave them somewhere visible so you are reminded of your foolishness 😉

There's no doubt you are comfortable with yourself Hora, otherwise you wouldn't post half the stuff that you do, normal people would recoil with the horror, a bit like wearing cowboy boots. 😉

Have to admit I own several pairs. But then I'm a fully paid up member to the whole "country" scene...

I used to wear cowboy boots a lot with bootcut levis etc during the garage rock revival of the early 00s (see bands like Jet and the Datsuns for further evidence).

At the time I was working in the music biz and touring as a support DJ for lots of big bands. I actually spent £280 on a pair with a wooden heel I don't wear them today as they are a bit midlife crisis though.

I do still wear a pair of big square toed black engineer boots, but they look a lot less camp and make me an inch taller.

I got mine from The Alberta Boot Company.

I love them and wear them quite often. Proper bootcut (i.e. very long) jeans required.

Non-cuban heel so they are slightly more discrete.
