[#1953989]

Right, anyone got a recommendation for a cheap(ish) smart phone that I can pick up on a PAYG? Not an iPhone as I'd only break it and it's way too expensive. LG, Samsung, HTC, etc.
Ideally would want to get emails on it and music. Not bothered about the interweb.
No contracts though. Need easy in easy out.
Happy to get one unlocked as Tesco seem to sell a few.
Cheers
Tim

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, one with buttons.

It's got the point now where I avoid replying to texts on my Hero because it's too much of a pain in the neck. And a Hero has a reasonable sized capacitive screen, not a poxy resistive one.

Xperia X10 has really impressed me. Though the 8mp camera is good its no way as good as my 7mp compact...

I'm still liking my nokia 5800. Great for biking with loads of mapping/logging stuff. Music player is pretty good. Plenty of free apps. Email is good on it, although I still prefer using the web interface. Was pretty cheap last time I looked.

Using a Nokia E6 here. Does all I need it too. Not the biggest screen in the world but perfectly serviceable.

BlackBerry should fit the bill then. I've got an 8520 curve which is perfect for your needs and crap for internet!!

Mine was a screen fail, we had one randomly turning off and the other one deleted mails and msgs before the owner could read them! (no it wasn't the settings!)
These things are wasted on us, none of us will ever be able to use them to their full potential. We'd be better off with nokias.

E series Nokias are a world apart from the N series etc.

The E71 has now been replaced by the E72, so you should be able to pick up a bargain E71 on the web somewhere. Cracking phone. I just sold mine for £60. (Got a HTC Desire, but sounds like this wouldn't be for you)
