I an trying to wean myself off fat face and M&S, gradually, so wondering.where to buy some casual BT still smart shirts.
i like Crew.
TM Lewin button down collar non-iron shirts.

I had a few Crew shirts, but found the cuffs bobbled up after ironing, put me off them as nothing worse than tatty cuffs on a shirt...
Orvis are good. Especially their non-iron ones
John Lewis will have some nice short sleeved ones reduced as we head into autumn. Go for something with a turn-up on the sleeve for “smart”. Short sleeved keeps it casual.

Charles Thyritt are pretty good. I'm currently sat in an H&M job in the sale, I have a few, they look fine, they were dirt cheap and I'm treating them as disposable.

Seriously though, I don’t understand the anti short sleeve shirt sentiment; obvs not such a great look if worn plain with a full pen clip and tie, but surely worn open necked and untucked with a nice pattern is not a totally ultrashite look? (Not that I particularly care, I can’t stand my forearms being covered by anything but an overgarment, that can be removed when inside).

I don't mind spending decent money on jeans and shoes but begrudge spending £50+ on shirts.
I just go to Debenhams. They have a good selection of Jeff Banks, John Roscha and Jasper Conran shirts. You'll definitely get sorted there

Joe Browns have some cool shirts at decent prices, especially in the sales.
Sleeves on shirts in general are shite and need to be pushed or rolled up. Short sleeved shirts should not be plain, the crazier the better.
The polo shirt is the choice for the fast food worker or photocopier repairer these days. Get out of the 90’s you bunch of grandads 😉

It was just a suggestion - they’re often cooler in warm offices and give one’s armpits a bit more breathing space.

I got a right slating from an insurance client for wearing one with a pocket, which he said would have been ripped off on my first day in any insurance office.

Also have a couple of old school Ralph Lauren button downs. Multi use shirts, can be tucked in to chino's and look reasonably smart or untucked with a pair of jeans and still pull of the smart / casual look.
I did go through a Marks and Spencer's phase, thankfully realised I'm not ready for elasticated trousers quite yet.
Uniqlo do a wide selection of smart/casual shirts. I like their flannel shirts, but they do a whole bunch of others suitable for office as well. Their Oxford cotton shirts are £20

A breast pocket is ok for smart casual. Short sleeved shirts though, are never acceptable. That is the domain of the t-shirt.
Boden architect shirt or whatever the up to date version is. Get them in the sale. Smartish and also casual and wash well.

Who wants long sleeves when you’ve got an afternoon of shoving your hand up a large selection of cows arses. (Actually many years since I did farm practice but remember it well)

Sometimes, should one have to wear a sports jacket or suit-blazer all day, and it’s hot, a short sleeved shirt is ideal for ventilation. If the sports jacket isn’t coming off, who’s going to know anyway?
You’re all a bit weird. Short sleeved shirts, the casual variety, are the best type of shirts. Ralph Lauren and jeans is the Chav chic look. Board shorts or jeans and short sleeved shirts are great. Who do you all look like, the presenters from Top Gear or minor royals?
