Needed to book my flights in 2 legs tassie to melbourne then melbourne to auckland. Ended up with the bad combo of 630am habg round in Melbourne then fly to nz...

Got here at 530 to find flight is delayed till 11. Had to rebook nz flights so now I arrive in Auckland at midnight ($200) lighter. Now the hire car place closes early so will have to change that (loose deposit and any advanced rate)

In the end of the day I could have been at home sorting this out instead of on my mobile in the airport 20 mins from home but cant get a lift back and in again. But qantas has a policy of not sending flight updates over night. Top this with a big sporting event and every other flight is booked full.

1st world problems I know but may be asleep soon...

My train to Lockerbie was delayed so much last night I just gave up and stayed here, so I feel your pain.

It was like the 1970s, no information regarding the replacement bus service, queuing on the pavement while buses turn up with drivers clueless about what's going on.

At least I got a refund.

TBF, you're not missing much in The Club in Hobart, it's about the size of a small office. Food's crap too.

Mind you, the free bar isn't supervised...

The one in MEL is much betterer

thats where i was sitting hoping for an emailed pass to get in, the Launceston one is just a cupboard (we don't all live down saarf) still 2 long change overs taken care of. Think it was about 20hrs all in, only 10 more than it should have been.

Well, I'll experience the joys of Burnie (Wynyard) AP tomorrow evening. Not even sure if they've bothered to tarmac that one!

Well, the a/p pretty much is a tin shed! Won't be getting back there until the last minute before boarding!

Is there any statutory compensation scheme for delayed flights out there? I had a long-haul BA flight from Gatwick to Antigua delayed by just over 4 hours, and we got €600 each (and merry in the business lounge)
