I think it's possible, but I think you just end up paying more because you get the deals with the TV/Phone/Internet packages.

Why?

Yes, you can do it, but surely it would just be cheaper to stick to one supplier? I assume you're interested in Virgin for the cable broadband, so assume you have a cable in your street? Why not just stick with Virgin for the lot?

Of course its possible. Virgin supply BB only and I'm pretty sure sky will also do tv onlly. It would probably be cheaper if you got both from the same supplier though.

I do that, Sky + HD with everything bar sport = 35pm
Virgin 100meg + Phone + Unlimited calls and a few other bits £35pm which is about the same as taking the pack from one or the other, although they both offer introductory offers if you take the lot from one supplier. I find virgin TV clunky I don't like the user interface but virgin BB is the nuts,so I'm happy to pay a little extra.

This'll be due to the imminent price increase from Virgin Media then? The same thought was going through my head this afternoon 🙂

We use to do it when we had cable, as above best TV and fastest broadband - not a cheap way though.

But it is useful for running the companies against each other if you have a problem.

Useful info, cheers.
I'll explain -- i'm moving into a place with a Virgin line and no Sky dish. I'm currently with Sky, so want to keep my Sky box so I can watch all the stuff on it - and Sky will set up a dish etc as part of their free move package. However, they won't install the phone/bb line until late January! Now, as there is a possibilty of my work paying for the broadband, i thought I'd get that with Virgin. Can't wait until Jan cos I do need it for work.
Losing Sky Tv is a possibilty, but if I don't have to...

If you phone virgin disconnections and tell them sky are sniffing around you can often get hefty discounts I've just come off half price for 6 months - likewise with sky.

Have you tried the Tivo service? I agree V+ is looking very dated now.

We have full Sky package at the minute but only get 2.6 Mbps with Sky broadband, we are switching to Virgin fibre , up to 60mbps. Keeping Sky tv but having the Virgin broadband and phone. Sky broadband is just too slow to enjoy anytime+, fibre optic should sort that!

So your paying £70 for pretty much the same as me (free eve and weekend calls only) plus I get Virgin in two rooms, plus TIVO and their (really quite amazing) new iPad app,
For about £20 a month more?
I'll stick with slightly clunky (two more button presses to delete a recorded programme) thanks

Sky Internet where I live is shitte! Lots of friends have Sky and have had endless problems with it whereas I've got Virgin and its been very good, especially since its changed from NTL. I have Sky+ HD for my tv package and have just negotiated quite a saving on my monthly subscription plus had a new box and Wireless Adaptor for it plus had my existing HD box moved to another room with a free 12 month Multiroom subscription as well.

Having tried both, I found exactly the opposite. Ho-Hum!

Have Sky got 3 tuners in their boxes yet like Virgin? That was the deal breaker for us. Too many recording clashes, I couldn't wait to get shot of Sky+

It makes sense taking Sky for the TV and Virgin for the BB if you're interested in the F1
The only way to get it on Virgin TV is to subscribe to the full Sky Sports package - and then you only get it in SD.
Sky will give you HD F1 by simply taking the HD package

Also, no Sky Atlantic on Virgin
I do prefer VMs Tivo over Sky's box but the F1 and Sky Atlantic issues swing it for me.
