Not sure which part of my browsing history leads to being served ads for "skinny outdoor trousers" at the top of this page - from the accompanying image it must have been from watching Geordie Jeans sketches on YouTube.
Somewhere deep in the T&Cs of google there used to be a page explaining who google thought you were and what your interests where based on you're browsing history (gender, approx age, country and broad interests like 'outdoors' 'gadgets' 'erotic mutilation' etc)
It explained that they tried to serve adverts based on that profile but there was a box you could prevent that by ticking a box.
So I ticked the box once and the next time I came to STW all the adverts were for incontinence pants.
