Give this a go, and tell me if you have similar problems to me, or if I'm abit weird...
Stand up (sorry!), feet shoulder width apart and hands by your sides.
Now, unweight one leg and raise that foot up towards your bum, bending at the knee ONLY...don't drop your hips or twist your trunk.

On my right leg, if I reach back slightly I can bring my lower leg high enough for my right hand to get hold of my leg.
On my left side I can't get my foot higher than my knee.
Admittidly I have a ridiculous ape span but my left side seems really crap.

Anyone get similar results?

You're fine. I can't get either of mine over about 90 degree bend. Its caused by tight leg muscles. Try doing some stretches everyday to loosen them and especially after getting back from a ride.

Some of mine was caused by a back problems, now I'm doing stretches and pilates which is helping.

I'm with simon on this, and I've drunk 2 large G&Ts.

what, without pulling your feet up to your bum?

no, unassisted my foot only gets within about 10cm (when cramp doesn't set in), unless I do it quick and kick myself 🙂

But I've always been very flexible

I'm like SFB on this. But always been very very flexible. I tend to sort of shamble and lope about rather than walk. It's a bit scary to watch sometimes...

Another physical test for you all. This one involves lying down and a second person though.

Lie on your front with your lower leg pointing up in the air - see if someone can straighten it while you are resisting.

That sounds painful.

Either leg from the knee down.
