Looking to sort out some tickets for me and son for next years British GP, and would appreciate some advice on the best locations within my budget.

Will be getting a weekend ticket and camping, looking to mill around the circuit and view at various locations during practice and qualifying, and sitting in a stand for the Sunday. It works out cheaper to but a stand ticket for the whole weekend, rather than general admission and a stand for Sunday.

Of the following locations, which would you all recommend?

Copse A
Copse B
Farm Curve
National Pit Straight
Stowe C
Vale
Village A

Thanks

None, luffield is by far the best place, luff b for preference! Been 3 times and on the friday sat in every stand to check ๐Ÿ™‚

It has a slow corner, end of hanger straight so you get action, plus the cars are quite slow through but then hammer it down to copse (flat out almost) then the maggots/beckets bit so you really see how fast they are.

Plus you get a screen, its the only way to know what is happening in the race.

If never been its amazing, babies are a bit too wee at the moment but will be going again soon!

Another luffield fan here - over the years I've tried a few stands but would choose to go back to luffield.

I did the same at free practice this year but disagree with Luffield.

Are you sure you mean Luffield? You can't see maggots/beckets, copse or the Hangar Straight from Luffield unless it's on the screen.
My preference was the far end of the next stand along (Woodcote A). We sat looking down the entire length of the Wellington straight, then the slow Brooklands/Luffield complex before watching the cars almost the whole length of the National Pit Straight as far as Copse. The cars are in your line of sight for ages. I felt that from the West end of Woodcote A, I could see everything I could from Luffield and a whole lot more.

Just to throw something else into the mix, sat at Village B for the Classic, and that was really good - cars doing interesting things coming into sight exiting Farm (very lively on lap one!), lots of shenanigans into Village itself and round The Loop, and you can hear anything interesting-sounding haring off down the National straight (without it pointing straight at you, which they are more so if you're at Woodcote/Luffield). At the Classic it was also handy for the food stands, you can see Becketts and the run onto Hanger if anything interesting happens, and most importantly you have a screen right opposite. ๐Ÿ™‚ We've sat in Luffield before and it's not a bad spot, but I preferred Village.

Your plan to wander on Friday and Saturday is exactly what we did - take pushbikes, it's a long way round the track! ๐Ÿ™‚

Am I right in saying Village B has a roof? Spent a bit of time in Village A which didn't. OP mentions Village A as a possible location. The action was good there but with sun out it felt a overly warm, and might be miserable in the rain.

B deffo has a roof - it was pretty wet at the Classic so shelter was essential! ๐Ÿ™‚

None. Stay at home, Silverstone is the worst circuit in possibly the world.

As above, stay at home and watch Aussie V8 Supercars on TV instead or save your money for the Goodwood Festival of Speed...

I asked this a couple of months ago. Did some research, ignore most of the advice and went with Village B.
It's got a roof (good for if it's scorching sun too), big screen opposite, near the fan zone stuff behind it, and in a section where you can see a few curves and hopefully some action.
Some people were fond of Becketts, but there's never going to be any action there. If the cars are impressive to watch at the speed they go through there then I can see it during practice or qualy.

Used to like Stowe or Club but that was before all the changes. Village was pretty good for Silverstone Classic so worth a try.

Always used to be that a stand ticket for Sunday gave you roving access to all the stands on Fri/Sat, if so take full advantage.
