[Closed] Silk screen printing - tell me about it...

My son is just finishing his 2nd year at Uni in Graphic Design. He's a very talented designer, even taking parental bias out of the equation, and is interested in doing some t-shirt printing for friends and various cycling/climbing groups that he's associated with.

So - is it worth his (OK, my) while investing in a 2 colour silk screen printing kit?

- is the actual printing procedure easy enough for, say, me to get the hang of?

What else do we need to know?

There's not much too it really.

I'm not sure if its worth investing in printing stuff of your own. There are plenty of places that do very high quality printing at very reasonable prices. And the higher the print run, the lower the unit costs. I'd suggest he does the design work, then get a to print them.

If it goes well and you need more capacity, and think you can make it pay, then buy the equipment then

I use these guys in Manchester. And they do a cracking job for a really good price
