Yep, woke to snow on the flysheet on a Dales summit this morning, my happy place.

A dusting of snow on the higher roads in the Peak District - Cat & Fiddle, Woodhead Pass etc. I'm assuming that there's already half a dozen idiots in Range Rovers stranded up there having thought "I have a 4x4, nothing can stop me!"
It's usually the way.
FB travel page suggests Woodhead might be closed, and a mate had sent pics of a decent dusting in Mansfield.
We had some veeeeery slippery snow on the edge of Edinburgh yesterday. Great riding.

Very light dusting on the tops of Tansley this morning (near Matlock).
-11 this morning and frosty AF, but no snow yet. Had to put a fire on and am still a little chilly. Sadly, the cat has stolen my office chair and the dog has taken the sofa, so I am forced to use a kitchen chair for work.
Been snowing reasonably heavy at times in York for the last 20 minutes or so...
Just looked out the window.... it's snowing here - Camberley, Surrey. Wasn't expecting that.

It seemed to start just as I walked out of York train station!
Currently sitting in a coffee shop watching the snow. Surprising number of people still cycling around actually, York's done some good work recently in boosting active travel.
Snowing on and off overnight and into the morning here in Harrogate but it's stopped now and some blue is poking through. It'll be gone by lunchtime.
Rode into work wearing shorts this morning and it was definitely trouser temperature.
Rather hairy drive over to Coldstream this morning.
Sheet ice and frozen snow on an untreated road made for some unexpected sideways action even at less than half the speed limit.
Snowing in London atm
Im a 1st aider in work and Ive already had to treat 1 person for fainting because she got too cold and wet on her cycle in!
Just cold around 2c in Manchester. Running my new ice tyres in on the commute before we get any ice. If its wet and sub zero I'll take the van as I dont fancy another fractured pelvis and hip socket this winter. And that was with ice tyres. Ive doubled the spikes in my new set. The old tyres were 15 years old though.

If you believe the local groups who try and promote cycling in York, you'd think that cycling around here was something like Squid Games. In reality its one of the most bike friendly places ever but these groups of nutters won't be happy until all motorised vehicles are banned from inside the ring road and every road is a 20ft wide cycle lane. On the flip side you have the anti-cycling lot who see JustEat delivery riders razzing around with no lights, ignoring every rule of the road and as such think that all cars should be weaponised to kill all cyclists.
Bit of a dusting on Knowl Hill, Norden baltic but nothing here.
An inch or two in Perthshire. Cold enough in the bothy last night to freeze Betty's water bowl. No phone signal. I was possibly the last peron in the country to hear the football result when I got back to the car.
Well, it has started. Now my life is clearing snow
I had to go out to make the most of the fresh snow. Didn't get back until after 5 because I know conditions can go from awesome to pish faster than you can say "Ali's Tartan Army".
Is there enough for ski Mountaineering Scotroutes?
The bike has grown antlers !

Maybe up at plateau level? There's lots of ski tracks round Loch Morlich where the XC folk have been but it's still thin, especially under tree cover.
Not a bad covering @scotroutes we had some really heavy showers this afternoon, but sadly it didn’t lie.
Just joined a works Teams call, about 15 people on it and everyone is talking about how cold it is, has anyone had any snow....?
Yes, it's winter, it gets cold. Now can we get on with things...?!
The Pentlands got a good amount again and it's perfect riding conditions - saw more mountain bikers than I've ever seen before out there (four of them...)

Snake Pass is closed again due to ice.
If it's not falling down the hillside, it's frozen or covered in snow. 😉
Panic! Captain Mainwaring, Panic!
We'd planned a campervan trip to Achiltibuie and Ullapool for Hogmanay but I don't fancy the combination of gale force winds and driven snow so it's Findhorn instead.
Having changed our plans, no doubt the weather warning will turn out to be a damp squib.

The media goes so over the top with it now that it's almost always a damp squib. Days of build-up, the supposed EXACT TIME! that some sort of biblical SNOWMAGEDDON will wreak havoc across a swathe of the country causing TRAVEL CHAOS! and THREAT TO LIFE!
And then there's 2hrs of sleet and the next day it's up at 8 degrees again.
@Scotroutes There’s a blast from the past - we used to go to Achnahaird caravan site every summer. Is Polbain Stores still there?

There's now a wee shop at the Port a Bhaigh campsite (opposite the pub).
Snow forecast are showing 20+ cm for the Cairngorms starting late afternoon Nye. Then continueing for approx 48hrs with gale force winds decreasing overnight. Nothing for Englandshire , a few cm for Wales and most of Scotland. The Highlands will get the lions share given the wind direction and pressure gradient
Can you please send some over to the French Alps. It hasn't snowed here since November. Every single day the weather forecast says - heavy snow in 6 days.
Had a small flurry last night (finally) and now have a -8c day with a thin 5cm layer of light snow. The next week is all about snow though; I think there is like 15cm predicted for tomorrow.

Your mistaking the media for weather forecasters
Started coming down in Whitby yesterday afternoon, cautious drive back to Pickering over the NY moors (about 3pm so stayed ahead of the worse of it) Looked very pretty this morning before we came home though.
Some hefty dumps around looking at north Wales and the north of Scotland, this map might be of interest to those watching
