Sorry no porn content. Bored of Thatcher and my city being slagged off again so a point of happier times. Show me your favourite out the door ride.

Luckily I'm not in the vid so can come round and nick your bikes without getting caught.

Mine takes about an hour and doesn't cross a single contour line, you probably don't want pics, unless salt marsh turns you on?

As luck would have it, I made a crappy little video the other day about my local ride. How convenient 8)

It's pretty flat around here, the only real lumps are near the assorted quarries along the valley.

OP. Watching that, it suddenly occurred to me how deeply uncool mountain bikers are.

Orgiva it would appear. I went near there on holiday once but I wasn't into biking at the time. Looks great - are there many trails round there, and are they easy to find? Isn't Orgiva known as a hippy-ish place?

Out the back, 100 metres or so of uphill tarmac, hop a fence, and then a few hundred more vertical metres up the hill

then a wee bit further

Not very exciting, but here's Kasper with the old Kona, back when it was warm...

My local loops are fairly flat, but picturesque.

Just up the hill. I've only ridden it once as I'm not keen on riding it on my own and I wouldn't be able to take the GF down it.

The bottom bit is pretty steep and rutted now - didn't manage to ride it all but heaps of fun.

Very lucky to have a lot of mountains nearby (sadly not Alps big though) and some OK singletrack, this trail starts about 5 minutes ride from my apartment and ends up overlooking the northern tip of Lantau, in the background is Victoria harbour, Kowloon on the left and Hong Kong on the right (Disneyland is right behind my head).
[img] [/img]

This is a little short section of the trail back to my home...

Aaagh, can never get the video links right.

Ride out the door and only need to cross a small road 1/2 way, so do-able with my dog.

This is just about the furthest point on one of my local loops, the descent takes me home. But I'm not telling where or what...

Pretty much urban riding only from my door, but I can put together a reasonable little 25km loop that is 1/2 track/road and 1/2 little nuggets of (sub)urban singletrack. No hills here in the flatlands, so our fun generally comes from wooded, twisty stuff.

Living in the centre of Cambridge, I'm a bit stuck for a back door trail, but this is about a 15min ride from the house:

Out my road, across the park and bam. Literally 60 seconds from leaving my door to...
[img] [/img]
Few minutes further on and...
[img] [/img]
5 mins ride the other direction...
[img] [/img]
and another...
[img] [/img]
10 mins away...
[img] [/img]
[img] [/img]
[img] [/img]
[img] [/img]
2 mins away, past the shops and through a graveyard...
[img] [/img]

Just looking at these makes me realise how lucky I am and why I go months at a time where I ride without using the car to get there!

Where's that DBW? W. Yorkshire somewhere? Looks ace.

If it's where I think it is I will hopefully be moving somewhere not too far away soon, also with great riding from the door (none at all where I am in Lancaster).

Loving Andeh video, like so many local rides linking up good bits with the bad/ mediocre.
Been out this morning "tidying up" my local trails after the snow 😀

Oh less than two minutes from garage door to the trails

Its Orgiva grum and yes lots of great trails, not that easy to find but never bother looking when Dave from bikingandalucia will show you round at a bonkers cheap price. He also laughs at my jokes which makes him a rare and dignified soul. Nice pics of local rides makes me jealous and nowt wrong with paddling if I can ever be botherd working out how to post pics I'll start a local paddle thread one day.

Not technically out of the back door but it is 700m down the road and sometimes I go out the front..
