And a truly beautiful clear dawn here outside Derby as well.

Always feels like the real New Year when the days start to lengthen. Not some arbitrary date on a manmade calendar.

Funny, sitting on the bus just now I thought "seems lighter this morning".

We made it, people. Let the good times roll.

Yay! Shortest day tomorrow and still wearing a t shirt to walk the dog.
The trees are going to get a shock when winter does start - I saw some new oak leaves out yesterday ๐Ÿ˜ฏ

It feels like this, this year - just the winter to get through now, when ever that starts!

Always thought shortest day was 21st but apparently it can be 20th - 23rd (due to calendar year being . 4 days shorter than solar year).

Evenings have been drawing out for a while now (12th December was the earliest sunset), though the mornings are going to keep getting darker until the end of the year.

Shortest day tomorrow, though.... Great thread OP! ๐Ÿ˜€

Yay! cheeky post-work loops and not having to strip-clean your bike after every ride!

Can't wait.

Nope,shortest day is today.

Tomorrow's the solstice, sometime around 1 a.m.
With luck I'll be at Avebury for dawn to join Terry the Druid, I might even take the bike.
