I've got half a dozen shares that I've had for years but haven't bought any more in years. It's all in interactive investors and I'm pay about £9 a month.

Is it possible to transfer them to a lower cost platform? I want to keep them long term but not a regular investor of individual stuff anymore.

Recommendations welcome too.

Thanks

I'm also with ii and was surprised how expensive they are.

My other one is ajbell, which seems cheaper

I use Interactive Brokers and they are much cheaper, Trading 212 is very cheap too.

Have you got funds held elsewhere you're paying account charges on?  Consolidating to one provider might reduce costs.

Fwiw, the cheapest you can get at ii is £5 per month.

how much dividend do they pay if its well under £500 (HMRC tax threshold) then transfer them to HL they have a standard  HL fund and share account that has no monthly fees. (dealing fees are £12.95, but regular monthly saver is zero fees if you intend to buy more shares)

remember capital gains is now only £3k in tax year 2024/5, so good to consider tax implications if you have made large increases or expect to in the future.

ps. you generally cant transfer shares into an isa, hence you would sell and buy back which may likely trigger capital gain, HL Stocks and Shares ISA. There’s no charge for holding cash, yearly charge for holding investments is a maximum of 0.45%.
