My OH is doing a sponsored bike ride to raise money for the British Heart Foundation, a charity close to both our, ah, hearts. I'll keep this simple. I'm fat. A size 20 fat. And I'm going to ride my bike 50 miles from London to Southend to prove fat people can do cool things on their way to being thin again, and in the process keep their heart nice and healthy. My BP is right where a normal sized person should be. Just fine, says my doc. My resting heart rate has dropped 15 bpm since I started exercising. I am pulling my body back.I'm going to ride a bike, wearing lycra, in public, to prove to every single other fat person who says they can't that they damn well can.
