They released a new EP last year, I’ve got a signed copy of it, and it’s very good too.

There’s another track on it call C U Next Tuesday, dunno what that’s about...

Thank you for this post, my father absolutely loved them and today is a big birthday for me so I’ve been feeling a bit glum in isolation.

I’m going to dig out his old CDs and have a listen.

Reminds me of the days when Now 21 was the height of musical sophistication!

Watched them on one of the BBC4 TOTP reruns the other night and said exactly the same thing. Massively underrated I think and yeah, the recent stuff is decent too.

Around about 91 I was going out with a lass who was Marcella Detroits double. Now happily married to one of her pals 🙂

Bloke from Eurythmics married one of them and she had an amazing vocal range. Facts from TOTP2.

Were damned good though

Not quite the same but I heard Pat Benatar on the radio today and that brought back memories. Her name was Rosie and we had more than cider 🙂

I find myself in agreement with this statement.

Reminds me of how my taste changed over the years regarding women generally, and Bananarama specifically.
Teenage years were all about Keren, the dark one, then changed over to Siobhan during my late twenties, and nowadays it`s all about Sarah, which I really never would have predicted.
Whereas with Steps I stayed true to Clare since day one (apart from her obese years, during which I was spitefully indifferent)

Bananarama

I was forced by a then girlfriend to go and see Bananarama I think at Hammersmith Apollo. I hated it and she berated me for being miserable (I was only listening to ‘maiden then).  Needless to say the relationship didn’t last.

Humph; I've just listened to The It Girl on #timstwitterlisteningparty and I'd take Louise Wener any day.

That is one belting album.

Loved Shakespeares Sister and it was at that time in my life, as a young teenager in school holidays, that I was getting into cycling.

Waking up early, bright sunshine, and my first thought to get out on my GT Talera and explore more of the world that my bike had made possible for me to see - not only with friends, but also new friends that cycling brought. I remember that this song (not SS, but same era and memories) basically defined one particular summer for me, and that was the time one of the bigger boys bought me my first pint after hours of bunny-hopping, log-jumping (badly) and track-standing our way around Torquay and Paignton coastlines in the blazing sun. Stupid to say in hindsight, but amazing as the time!

Proper Mint Sauce memories:)

100% with you there - there is one bit in the Stay video where she looks at the camera it *SUCH* a sexy way (edit, 2:55 of the video posted up there). Similarly there is one bit in that Brian Adams / Sporty Spice song where she looks at the camera just right.

(Goes off to swoon)
