Going back 22 years I was in a serious relationship with a medical student who was working so hard with her studies and was the opposite side of the country to me I guess 5 times a year would have been about right. I dumped her for the girl I am with now, and even after 22 years our bedroom antics are still top drawer. Of course the ex is now a successful consultant surgeon on megabucks while I am still on the poverty line (but only by conventional measurements 🙂 ).
So I think that in my case your question has been answered.

All the married people I know (my age!) would say 5 times a year is an increase... so more money AND more sex? Who wouldn't take that?!

30 and skint, or 60 and loaded
Depends on personal prospects really - though still skint at 30 suggests none I suppose - but plenty of students are still poor at 30...and some may stay that why really! Would be interesting to ask 60 year olds that question.
No use asking me - I'm 63 and sill skint. Just as well I have sex a lot more than five times a year then.
