It's something that's easily solved by doubling up the sheets, but I feel for the poor person who had to make the discovery.

Does it at least have perforations, or is it continuous roll that you can use like a belt sander?

Assuming there's an odd number of traps, nobody should be using trap #2 anyway. Rules.

You only use Trap #2 to Shit Like A Boss.

Single ply doesn't have sufficient tear strength to work in the dispenser. So it comes off an postage stamp sized pieces.

Rule 1 of public trap use. Assess presence and serviceability of paper BEFORE launching any dreadnoughts.  At home you might get away with the keks around the ankles waddle of shame to the bog roll stash.  In public? Not so much.  Your only option then is to sacrifice a pair of M&S finest boxers in an attempt to effect a sub optimal resolution of the problem. Or so I've heard...  😗

M&S bog roll for the win. £0.85-£1 per roll. Pack of 4.

If you can't afford it, maybe you should have tried harder.

Four. They invert fairly well.

I really hate it when your finger pushes through the toilet paper mid wipe....

But apart from that I'm really enjoying my new job in the old peoples care home.

IZAL toilet tissue? More like tracing paper.

I never understood this. We had that stuff at junior school. It doesn't so much 'remove' as 'redistribute.' It'd make sense if it was cheap, but it was more expensive than regular paper.

Single ply bogroll is a human rights violation.

About 20 years ago a group of us had a weekend camping, moving and (mostly) drinking in Edale and the campsite bogs all had Izal in them.

I have never been so glad I packed an emergency roll of Andrex.

I was involved in a really warped version of the Crystal Maze end-game with that Izal stuff in Kazakhstan a couple of years ago. A long-drop toilet with a strong wind blowing used sheets back up the squat hole made for a high stakes challenge!

Dont think I've been in a bog with that old tracing paper toilet roll since my school days!

I remember you had to form it into a scraping tool rather than attempt to wipe your arse with it!

We have. Stayed in The Old Vicarage B&B in Ambleside and that's what they had:

Totally bizarre for an 'upmarket' B&B with their own pool!

Anyone know why Izal paper is still used? Is it mega cheap or something?

Is there any reason medicated paper is relevant!?

How exactly was it medicated?

Was there something in it to help with the inevitable crap filled paper cuts?

Anyway. Common sense prevailed and it was discontinued in 2010.

I remember being horrified and awed to learn that only the boys' toilets had Izal medicated, the girls' loos had soft two-ply. Looking back now of course it makes sense but as youngster I though it was unfair that I had to go several years without daring to shit at school while they could shit in luxury

At home you might get away with the keks around the ankles waddle of shame to the bog roll stash.

My bog roll stash consists of a metal stand with half a dozen rolls stacked on top of each other, just inside of the door, within easy reach, and the rest of the pack in a little wicker basket just below the sink, again within easy reach, and which is where the empty cardboard tubes go.

I remember that Izal stuff from school, horrid stuff, I can only imagine it was intended to persecute school kids or was some sort of character building excercise.

Sandy Toksvig discovered it made perfect Air Mail paper to write letters back home, and was free. 😁
