I'm led to believe the boys from Credenhill and the police have had a lot of collaboration lately, particularly counter-terrorism stuff.

They have done for ages, and they do a lot of it too. They would not be flashing blues for training, why ever would they?
More telling is that they looked like clones; there is a definite type for sure.

Hora, while I can believe she's on patrol, her dress is a bit short for Pontefract on a November evening

Judging by how many emergency services had turned out yesterday for a few branches down, down sarf, I think the convoys are merely escorts for the tree surgeons... ๐Ÿ˜‰

There was a bomb disposal unit there once IIRC. Would see the procession on the A49 every now and then.

As for the other lot - once got a lift home in an army landrover from an orienteering event. Late getting back to Erryfud, I was told that he would slow down near the station and I was to jump out. So that's what happened on Commercial Street. Dont know if he was from youknowwho though.

"Could well have been one of the training convoys up to Scotland. Due to a lot of press about the use of Pen Y Fan and so many tourists standing around with cameras the special forces have started heading up to Scotland."

Could this be why I was questioned by Police yesterday after being reported for photographing hills in Midlothian. (Should have been on the bike - no plates).

Yup. We've just been discussing them again.

Glad that they're on our side! Couldn't fancy them knocking on the door in the early hours ...

Joking aside, you do see slightly odd looking small convoys about Hereford and the surrounding countryside. Always unmarked dark saloons with not very obvious blue lights. Usually 2 up and never older men.
Enough to make you gossip if nothing else I suppose.

There's loads of fast response driving training courses on at the moment around here. Probably just a training run.

I think I just saw the same convoy on the A4103 in Bransford just outside Worcester at about 4pm coming from Hereford direction. Lots of unmarked Sprinter vans, a couple of Landies with sat dishes on the roof, two all black, big American pickup trucks pulling matching black trailers (with mysterious cargo under tarp) all with a liberal helping of marked police cars and outriders. Cue conspiracy theories...

Seriously? I'd have told him to take a hike. There's no law to stop anyone taking photos of anything in open public spaces.
I'd have also suggested that the copper have a quiet word with the **** who reported you for wasting Police time. Jeeze, some people... ๐Ÿ™„

Might be the National Crime Agency saw them on the news using a lot of over priced pimpmobiles as cop cars

One of the most important criteria for choosing Police vehicles, after suitability, is the cost.
The Police get massive discounts on their motors and pay well below list price.

My dad saw them on the M1 also. Says they had blue lights on but weren't uniformed police.

Redditch isn't that far away.

Erryfud - I like that a lot, the city dwellers pronounce it just like that!

So, anyway, the Mrs came home tonight and also said she saw said convoy, but they were a bit split up, and the last few in the gang definitely came from Credenhill direction onto the Roman Road.

There's massive SAS envy around here, a lot of them live locally, put down roots, marry locals etc, it's almost comical, everyone seems to know someone who was in the regiment or their best mate was in some famous incident or another............ The women love the SAS boys, thy don't half get through them!

So, how many Herefordshire dwellers on here?

Is that the polis or the Hereford boys out on a fairly significant call?

No, they are definately not police vehicles.

No, they are definately not police vehicles

...it was definitely the most eclectic mix of unmarked high performance vehicles I've seen with blue light use.

The blue lights were in the grills / indicator units / dash mounted so very much legit.
