Helping a mate chance the oil in his 05 seat Ibiza tdi. Is there any special things that need to be done? The reason I ask is I read on here about the Citroen/ pug engines needing the turbo gauze cleaned but never saw it on any other forums.

What is it? 1.9? Just make sure you use the specific PD engine oil.
That's what I've used in mine and it is still going strong after 227k miles.

Ye 1.9 tdi sport I believe. Vw505.1 or higher I believe for the oil?

Halfords own brand (made hy comma) vw spec fully synth oil £10 for 4 litres currently. Bought a couple for my T5.

Yes, the PD spec oil is mandatory, but it's easy to find.
Also if it's on long life service intervals, you will need long life spec oil too.
