Hi long shot really and i know some people on here must be into them, as a kid we used to have massive sets,just looked now and its a bit of a minefield.
Its my birthday soon and was thinking of a winter treat,
Got a fairly big loft for it to go in.
Any advice?
Or any one got a set gathering dust ?

Be aware there are multiple types of track connection systems now. You can get converters between each but it can limit track options. Also decide whether you're going to go analogue or digital for the controllers if you plan to go big at some point, either on track size or cars. Digital means you can run more than 2 cars on a standard track so handy if you plan to have mate's races.

Get Digital. Track works with both Digital and Analogue (Sport). It’s the car guts / controllers that are digital specific. You might find some Classic track around second-hand but you can buy adapters however it’d make track building a pain.
We have lots of wooden or laminate floors and decent sized rooms in our house so it comes out and gets put away again.

It’s not that complex, but if you’re hoovering up second hand track you need to know what it is.
Cars wise you can convert most to digital (and vice versa analogue) with a mini screwdriver in about 60 seconds.
