Saving/Moving text messages to new phone

Hi, recommendations for best method/software/app for moving messages from one Android phone to another. Old phone is Nexus with no external card, new phone Samsung with Latest version of Android. Tried SMS backup and restore but got stuck...:-( Maybe too late at night..

SMS backup and restore always worked for me.

When I got a new android phone (Sony) the software it came with managed to transfer everyting (messages included) from my old iPhone. So i'd imagine your new phone will come with something similar.
