I have the need for a new set of safety boots to work in the field. Need toe caps and high ankle, but also need to be grippy on rock etc.. and super-comfy to spend all day in. Basically a proper walking boot with toe protection.

I’m currently using Englebert Strauss “Alrakis”, which are OK but not super-comfy and the rand started to disintegrate early on. I’ve tried De Walt, some Caterpillars amongst others previously, all of which were comfy but not grippy enough.

Any recommendations from the STW massive? Price not such a massive object if they’re good.

Thanks in advance.

I’m just using Dunlop thermal safety wellies at the moment (purofort I think) and they’re doing well

Ta Houns. I should have said, not too warm as I work in Africa amongst other places. My feet would hum!

Currently wearing the Englebert Strauss Katsura boots and liking them, was advised by my physio to put sorbathane double strike insoles in work boots a few years back, makes a massive difference to comfort after a long day.

I've always found Cofra boots better than the competition, but I'll go for winter boots or not winter boots, but still goretex, so not sure about hot weather boots

Another vote here for Cofra - over the years have purchased several hundred pairs in a number of styles for use by Civil Engineering staff on construction projects and have had very few (<5) issues.

Used Cofra boots for a long time and they are good.
Currently using Redwing Petrokings which are superb.

Second for Haix. I use Airpower XR3 for S3 protection and they are a bit heavy but still all day comfy.

Steel Blue are a favourite of mine, wear them all day, everyday.

Haix or Bates boots

both used at work and are a balance between support and smartness.

the haix have the nickname ‘clown boots’ if that bothers you
