Good post - I'm excited about Anika Nilles too.

Is it too much to imagine they might tour again...?

I had a drumming masterclass with her a few years back. Superb choice for a band like Rush, very technical, she'll be great for them

They are touring again.

But only in N America, no European dates

We're celebrating Rush Day by going to see a brilliant Rush tribute band called Moving Pictures tonight. They've proved rather prescient by having had a lady drummer for years now. She does a superb job.

They do a great show with around three hours of all sorts of Rush classics. They even bring out the kimonos and double-necked guitars for Xanadu. Best bit of the whole show tonight will be when, on the twenty first day of the twelfth month, at precisely twelve minutes past nine, they will start playing......well do I really have to say???

To be fair, I doubt there's a single Rush fan in the country who didn't know that.

The Benny Hill theme tune?

That would just be the most brilliant thing ever!!! I hope they're reading this.

I can't wait to see what the new drummer will bring.

This popped up on my Youtube feed a few days ago, I think it must be her first public outing.

I can't help feeling that Geddy's voice is struggling a bit, there are times when he feels a bit screechy and strained but musically they seem as brilliant as ever.

They're all clearly having a whale of a time. Oh, and they seem to have acquired a keyboard player.

@jimster01 someone's popped up a fancam video focusing on Anika. It's not great quality but worth a watch all the same.
