It’s the anyone but England that i find annoying.
They’re just jealous. Ignore them. 😉
England backs were poor apart from Smith who was excellent.
Agreed, as usual no invention just passing it down the line. Tactic seems to be to carry it forward to the next forwards play.

Just saying it like I see it. You’re boring.
Rugby values - No 1 is respect.
They’re just jealous. Ignore them
I am, I seriously think Italy could well beat Wales this year
He started the disrespect, with condescending shit. Asked me whether I only turned up for England games, and then dismissed my answer. 'Ah bless!' as a response
And = 1st is respect for the referee, please point that out as well. It was the moaning at the reffing that started this.
He started it, no he started it
How about just grow up? if you don't like what I say don't read it
.
He started the disrespect
He's not one of us though is he, I'm only concerned with how England conduct themselves. Be better than that yeah?
I'm just as guilty, and often need someone else to tell me. Have a beer and enjoy our great win.
Also, retaliation = just as guilty.

Italy played well especially in the second half keeping England to 5/7 nil. England, not so much. I do think Italy v Wales could be as close as the Scotland match.
England though - pretty shit really. Ireland and France should beat them.
often need someone else to tell me.
was all I was trying to do.

We have to get past Wales first...
. I do think Italy v Wales could be as close as the Scotland match.
Italy have a very good pack of forwards but England's is better, Wales have a shit pack and some very average backs too, although we do have Italy at home I think.
We have to get past Wales first…
Will be far too strong for Wales, especially at home, keep it tight for 50mins and then run in a few tries when we are beat.
I agree that Ireland and France should be too strong though.
I blame Dan Biggar Twitching whiny get that he is but saturday showed why I had him down as lions 10. Hardly made a mistake - even that drop goal turned out to be the right call. Wales tactics seemed to be endless side to side passing until a scot got bored and gave away a penalty. Scotlands seemed to be fluff every attack with a turnover or knock on.
There does seem to be something about wales that makes them our bogey team. Scotland looked flat and not up for it. Bloody Finn Russell - that was a genuine attempt at a intercept and if he had he would have gone the length! Match lost or won there depending if the ball sticks. Biggar wouldn't have done that.
Shout out to the Welsh forwards who made some lovely turnovers that were critical as well
*still sulking*
*mutters*
AA and the rest of you - lets try to turn this thread back to fun. Stop the bitchyness
Anyone seen this from U20s?
Independant medic says HIA, England staff want to argue with ref. She stands her ground and good on her.
I thought only the Captain was allowed to talk to ref anyway?
I hope some proper spankings get handed out for this, regardless of undermining the HIA process, the staff discussion with the ref is enough to piss me off. Should have been reds all round.
Might be the language thing, but that 'No. Thankyou. Bye' is brilliant. Well done!
I back Italy when they are underdogs
I back the team that plays the attractive rugby I like to watch. Normally that's Italy, France and Japan. Mrs TiRed is a mad England fan.
"Are you a doctor", well yes I am actually... of Theoretical Physics 😉 . I'd be handing out some serious admonishments for that. Referee's word is final. It's the single most important part of Rugby. My son's friend is a (young) ref and he abandoned a game after being harassed by a coach. RFU backed him to the hilt.
Do you think they would have argued with a male referee? No way they would have dared argue like that with Nigel Owens for example. Disgraceful behaviour.
Bloody Finn Russell – that was a genuine attempt at a intercept
No way!
and if he had he would have gone the length
😂😂😂 comedy gold. Finn Russell run the length of the field - with Biggar on his toes next to him, LRZ at his other side and the rest of the team to beat too. 😂😂
OK Gauss - he gives it to one of the quick boys. You knows it 🙂
To be fair TJ he wouldn't run to the 22. It's why 10s are 10s not fit or fast enough to be a real back not tough enough to be a 9.
I do think it was a genuine attempt in his head it will stick.
OK Gauss – he gives it to one of the quick boys. You knows it 🙂
Now that was a possibility and would have been worth seeing. Just being able to catch a ball one handed at full stretch at an angle of 30° would have been amazing enough 😉
Just being able to catch a ball one handed at full stretch at an angle of 30° would have been amazing enough
To be fair, it would have been much easier to catch without Dillon Lewis holding onto his arm 😉
The symmetry of this is all too much for me.
The ref gave it as just a knock on. I’ve seen similar given as deliberate, yellow card, take away the foul play and player, penalty try.
Trials and tribulations of the game.
Has Basham been cited yet?
Just seen the news that Mark Wilson of Newcastle and England has retired from all playing with immediate effect. What a shame, great player from the Falcons academy, started as a 14 year old.
take away the foul play and player, penalty try.
I seem to recall other players were close to hand so no pen try.
It is hard to reconcile Hogg not even giving away a pen for his and Russell being carded though.
Has Basham been cited yet?
Not noticed yet, should be though. Usually they don't like to be seen to undermine refs which was why I was so surprised Gilroy was cited and banned...did you notice that by the way @tjagain
AA - bore off please I said Gilroys could have been either way. dunno why you want to make such a big song and dance
I am posting this with heartfelt apologies to theotherjonv, but this has made me spit my rice crispies.

😂🤣😂🤦♀️
TJAgain, I know you are a lovely bloke but you do seem to have a tough time looking at the other side of the coin.
Basham seemed.a clear cut red.
Mind you Hogg was a sure fire penalty/yellow.
On closer inspection Bashan did start below and slip up so he might get away with no ban, should have been yellow though, its a closer call than the Gilroy one. Think the Russell card was correct, but plenty of cover so certainly not a pen try.

Maybe because you spent pages telling me I was wrong but don't have the minerals to admit that you were actually wrong. if I could be bothered I'd go back and quote a few of your posts that are certainly very different from, could go either way!!
The Russell knock on, from the video, the view from behind Dillon Lewis there was a massive gap between the two remaining Scotland defenders. If Russell's knock on was deliberate, then his ations are completely removed from the equation, the pass to Lewis and then the run in were, to some eyes, a try.
Like I said, I've seen some given, some not.
Remember Loopy Liam's attempt to decapitate the SA? player some years ago? Same situation.

That doesn't narrow it down much 😄😄😄

And if you could be bothered you would see you are wrong and being an arse. do me a favour
Yup, it does at times appear that you are not allowed to have a different opinion than someone else. It does seem that a lot of the bickering on this particular thread is by two people, over matters that are subjective that even experts in studios who played the game at a far higher standard than most on here can't agree on, so we've no hope.
I love my rugby, love this thread but despair when it gets into the bickering level.
And like the post said I would actually quite like to meet the protagonists in person at a game one day, just to see if the theory stands up!
And if you could be bothered you would see you are wrong and being an arse. do me a favour
You spent an age telling me that an attempt to wrap was mitigation for a high tackle it clearly is not the guidance was clear and you couldn't/wouldn't or refused to look at it, even Duckman suggested you give it a rest but but you did not. A few days later the citing panel showed that you were wrong and then you refused to comment....yet I'm an arse? Fair play that not how it feels to me.
I would actually quite like to meet the protagonists in person at a game one day
I had a beer with Krypton once, he seemed fairly normal, not sure what he made of me 🤪
he seemed fairly normal
I hid that well, phew.
not sure what he made of me
A younger Eddie Hitler 😉
Kryton I am trying!
AA I was trying to explain the laws to you as you appeared confused. However given your antagonistic tone I will be ignoring you from here on. Quite frankly you make this thread unpleasant. I am trying to not be a part of stinking it up
AA I was trying to explain the laws to you as you appeared confused.
You need to check in with the citing panel then, not me. You really do never listen despite over whelming evidence.
https://images.app.goo.gl/9a1PTs7N2DFsr6gc9
AA - you have missed the basic point I was making - thats all. citing panel is quite correct - I never said otherwise. At the heart of it is a subjective decision - thats my point and because of that subjective decision either a yellow or red may be appropriate. ]
You have been really antagonistic leaping straight into the attack without realising you have misunderstood and refusing to listen
Please stop stinking up the thread
Please stop stinking up the thread
Pot? Kettle?
You spent a page droning on that a wrap is mitigation for a high tackle, I tried to explain at length with links to the guidance why it wasn't, this is not subjective, you are wrong. You were antagonistic as well as trying to take the piss, leading to another poster saying "why don't you go round his house and shag his dog too" or similar. Then a few days later when the citing panel show you were wrong you lack the minerals to even respond.
Instead of just bleeding you have misunderstood try explaining what I have misunderstood because I can't see it. A wrap/attempted determines which pathway shoulder charge or high tackle and it's not mitigation for a high tackle.
OK, I want to pointlessly bicker about something different now.
Russell's yellow wasn't a yellow and wasn't even a penalty*.
If you look at the video you can see that the ball travels up and only goes forwards about 2 metres. After he touches the ball he gets full on body checked by Dillon Lewis and effectively comes to a halt. He starts moving forward again but by this point the ball is almost on the ground and too far away to catch.
If he hadn't got tangled up with Lewis (who you can also see pulling his arm back) I'm almost certain he would have caught the ball.
Discuss.
*It probably worked out in the end though since Hogg should have been given a yellow for his 'knock on' earlier in the match.
Discuss
Don't agree, his chances of catching the ball were minimal, wasn't a pen try though. Hogg was lucky too, as said earlier it's hard to reconcile Hoggs being a knock on and Russell's being a yellow
I don't know.
For the defence: It's perfectly possible to catch a rugby ball one handed, and if he hadn't been bumped may well have been able to pull it back in to the other hand or body.
For the prosecution: it's become a 'thing' that simply going for the ball one handed is considered risky and failing to catch it results in it being considered deliberate. So don't do it unless you're confident / willing to accept the sanction otherwise. It's about decision making at that moment.
The issue is consistency and judging intent is hard in all sports. If you want consistency you need to make it explicit, eg: going for a one handed interception and failing will be considered a deliberate knock on. Then at least you know.
his chances of catching the ball were minimal,
I don't know if minimal but as above, certainly risky - but that's not the same as 'he deliberately knocked it on'. Players try things that have low or minimal risk of success regularly.
