Another in agreement. Rugby is the only sport I watch. If it goes pay to view, then I’ll not watch it.

Me neither. It's so short-sighted....they only have to look at the impact on the popularity of cricket and golf when they became pay-to-view to see how it will impact rugby. Rugby is struggling anyway, this could kill it.

I thought rugby 6N was on the protected list so must remain free? Mind you Sky being one of the tories paymasters?

Edit - bollox - schedule B which means it can go so long as highlights are shown on free tv

Scotland may well beat Wales in the 6Nations, especially as Wales have so many injured players. That would put Scotland mid table.

The 6N going to Sky would be bobbins.

If BT get it, that’s less shit because I pay for BT Sports anyway to watch the prem and Europe. But it’s poor for those who don’t.

In other news, Ashton and Sale have agreed to part ways with immediate effect. Any news on what has gone on there?

I have just been caught out by BT sport. I was switching to BT just for the saving on BT sport....2 days after they introduce charging.

Ashton had a fall out with Diamond apparently. In other news Eddie Jones calls up Exeter’s second choice number nine; that should shut up his detractors.

Be careful if you're using a Mac, BT Sport doesn't work in the current OS.  Sigh.

so, apparently The Times is reporting that

the rights package is actually being split up into three tranches of five matches a year - with the most high-value portion of games including the most commercially attractive. They say broadcast providers can bid for as many slices of the rights as they want to, it's possible for one broadcaster to secure all three slices, but they report it's likely at least one section will go to either the BBC or ITV

so maybe a few of the 6 Nations games will be available on BBC or ITV...based on what criteria? A higher value slice featuring games they think will be more popular end up on Sky, and lower value i.e. anyone vs Italy on Free to View?

Sky get the England games and the BBC/ITV gets the rest 🙂

this, probably. Remember when the organising committee tried to insist that England/France was always the final game, cos that's the only game that mattered?!

Jones has named his team for the Wales test...

Daly; Watson, Tuilagi, Farrell, May; Ford, Youngs; Marler, George, Sinckler, Itoje, Kruis, Lawes, Wilson, Curry

Replacements: Cowan-Dickie, Genge, Stuart, Launchbury, Ewels, Earl, Heinz, Slade

Seems to be sticking with Curry at eight with Wilson at seven despite the latter having more experience there, Lawes in at six again. Still loving lots of locks!

In other news Biggar and Williams are fit for Wales.

Wilson and Watson in for England and of course no Mako, I’m still surprised that Curry is at 8, surely Wilson is better there he’s a solid carrier. The Ford, Farrell, Tuilagi 10/12/13 continues.

Anyway...

Faletau dropped for Navidi, big call. Shingler on bench covering lock looks a bit mental, Davies out completely and Webb on bench is also odd. To summarise, our best hope is that Corona virus gets it called off!!

Faletau dropped for Navidi,

Crikey, I'd have had them both in and benched Moriaty as an impact sub/finisher/whatever

What time will Biggar be withdrawn?
I will not be able to watch live, I doubt I'll have the stomach to watch a recording either!

I thinking - hoping - England will win this maybe 26-17.  But I am nervous.  Back row all out of position, Watson hasn’t played for a while.

Yet, they’ll be kick chasing at Liam Williams to force errors or terrority but that’s always 50/50 even after some time out, and I’m pretty sure they’ll be running at Biggar so he injures himself off the pitch.   The Genge/Cowen Dickie impact seems to be working well and I think Sinkler/that’s going to feature today.    I’m nervous the Welsh centres and Wings will exploit Ford (defense) and turn Tuilagi    .

Will be a good game I hope and whilst wishing everyone good health I hope we don’t have a part empty stadium

Nice to see a record crowd at the Stoop for the women’s match. Two good friends of mine who played for the RAF women’s team were there and had a great time.

Wales could potentially take this.. England looked to be flagging a bit at the end of the first half.

Weird game - England were better certainly, but I thought uninspiring despite scoring loads of points

Erm, wow.  Don’t know where to start.  If Tuilagi had wrapped, his shoulders would have been under North’s chin, worse result.   What do you do?

England better, 15 vs 13 flatters Wales but Wales played really well.

What do you do?

Tackle with some control?

Wales played really well.

I don’t think they did. Poor defence and a patchy attack. It may have been a different game if it had been played in Cardiff - Itoje should have been yellow for his ‘tackle’ on AWJ, and was it Wilson who shouldered him from behind off the ball? That wasn’t even reviewed. Both sides were niggly, but England were lucky to only have two cards.

As to the English prop’s liking for other men’s genitals, is there even a sanction for that?

There was plenty from both sides. Depends what colour your glasses are as to how you view the decisions. I thought reffed pretty well.

Manu was definitely a red

There were a lot of shoulder injuries for Wales. One from a no arms tackle on Sinckler but I didn't see the how the others happened.

I'll be interested to see if there any action for knobgate

For goodness' sake. He's a prop. He's supposed to do stuff like that. Rugby is losing its soul.

Re Genge's yellow: wouldn't a better punishment for repeated offences near your own try line be a penalty try? Is this in the rules?

Loved Gareth Thomas' joke re knob gate!
"It wouldn't have happened in my day, if it had I'd be still playing" rofl

Strange game really England looked to be well on too but poor discipline let Wales back into it and nearly cost them the game. Hopefully the poor points difference won’t bite us in the arse should we still be in the hunt.

Pivac has got some work to do. That score line flattered Wales somewhat.

I'm not a rugby expert but that looked dirty as hell. England seemed to have been coached to be as vicious as possible in contact. Eddie Jones is a pure ****, whingeing about the ref in the post match interview after winning, I can't imagine what the dressing room is like with him in charge.

English fans wonder why everyone hates them.. it's cos people like that get to work there.

Watching it now, Wales still playing shit. How did lawes getvaway withbthe high shot onbAWJ. Dilly Dally classic that AWJ got his head on the wrong side!! He's the carrier ffs, clear high shoulder from Lawes, mitigation as AWJ going down so yellow at worst but these video refs steal a living!!

Tuilagi red a bit harsh, North put his head on the wrong side!!!! Seriously though a yellow would have done.

It's was a yellow for the shoulder no wrap. Protocol says contact to the head, red. It's the problem with being coached to dislodge the ball with a big shoulder smash.

When is a rip a rip, play on, and when is it a rip lost forward in the tackle?
