No help but a number of manufacturers (Inc BMW) wrap the wiring loom in a soy based material that the mice find very tasty 🫣
It can be a very expensive issue.
We had one eat through our clutch hydraulic hose on the camper last year. Expensive repair and recovery to garage.
Went with a rodent spay on everything and pellets sprinkled under the van. Also stuck a solar sonic repeller at the front.
Fingers crossed we haven't had a repeat so far.
Bait them with a younger gopher?
I can’t use anything toxic as there’s a pretty healthy ecosystem - owls etc that rely on the rodents.
The electric things sound interesting, but I’m not sure if they are just snake oil… ooh there’s an idea 🤣
Modern cars have a cat fitted already...
But it’s fitted in the wrong place and only on petrol engines.
Chilli powder and vaseline for a home brew solution.
I’ve read about peppermint oil too… so I’m thinking maybe rubbing Vicks on the loom might work 🤣
These are Australian rodents aren't they, not common or garden UK rodents?
Nuke them from orbit etc
Mice ate through a fuel hose in our Polo. Very expensive repair. I’ve been spraying with peppermint stuff but I don’t know if it really works. (Insert joke about Polo and peppermint)

Antechinus are pretty cute… but there are all sorts of immigrant rodents too. No idea what mini rodent is eating my mini though
I don't know of a deterrent but once I was driving at about 50mph when a mouse appeared from under the bonnet! I slowed down but didn't see what happened to it. There was quite a nest under there.

Exactly why I don't wear big hats while driving as you can't see what's hiding in them.
