MegaSack DRAW - This year's winner is user - rgwb
We will be in touch
Evening all! Myself and a few buddies are entering Relentless 24 at the Fort in October. Being newbies I guess I'm asking for any nuggets of advice from anyone who has ever taken part.
Thanks.
I'm up there this year for my first time....wondering how cold it will be.
Even when it's not that cold in real terms (meaning 15-20 C) you will still get really cold between laps. You need plenty or warm clothes, sleeping bags and hot drinks.
It'll be tough but fun...
with a name like neepshed i assume your an ecurieneep ?
dont know if you have met me i ride with them occasionally on wednesdays - and my girlfriend more so on saturday rides
We are going over with a team of 4 to ride
take plenty food , take plenty water - there is water on site but it tastes fowl - id rather drink from the burn 😀
take tools do not rely on the mechanic (if there is one)
take fully charged lights , try not to rely on charging points - i dont think there are many if at all any - there were some one year iirc
Take a large tent or gazebo for somewhere to sit between laps and a gas space heater has been the best thing we got for team events in a long time - you know an old calor gas one even.....
The race is not won on the first lap, just pace youself and enjoy it, well thats what we are hoping to do anyway 🙂
Try and get somebody to organise your team if you can things like getting you up in the middle of the night feeding and clothing you, it makes a huge difference.
