My mum took me to see him live in about '88 - must have been in his 70's then and he was doing acrobatics. We both lol'd continually.
Good innings, top entertainer, and seemed happy.
So long Norman.

Indeed - "Pitkin" as they knew him there.

That Tony Hawkes book: "One hit wonderland" was it? Brilliant bit when they went to Albania with Norman.

RIP 🙁

A ripe old age.

My grandad died today too, I don't think he had a cult following in Albania, but he was a household name in a couple of houses in Boston, Lincs!

RIP.

Sad sad news!

I was watching the news story and whilst it was a sombre affair, I found myself smiling at the video clips.

He was a proper proper funny man!

As someone who isn't very old I've never really seen him do anything but I have certainly heard lots about it.

A great loss, but a grand age!

RIP 🙁

*** claim to fame (not)********

When i was 21 and had just passed my test i went whizzing around the Isle of Man's loverly roads. Up north its flat and there are a myriad which skirt the opening stetch of the end 2 end route. Anyway i was taking one road out of Andreas, came bombing around a corner to find this old bloke with a stick in the middle of the road. Slammed the massive calipers on my Fiesta Ghia, i managed to stop without hitting him. The elderly gent smiled, waved his stick and Norman , for it was he, tootled on for his afternoon constitutional. imagine if i'd hit him - would always be a stand out on yer CV....
