No, that is terrible. As slight underagers, me and my chum blagged our way in to see Aliens (I think they would have let in a 10-year old to be honest), but I loved that film and he was brilliant in it. Sad day.

No way 😥 a great actor. Brilliant in Weird Science, my favourite character in Aliens and great in the world's best guilty pleasure that is Twister.

Condolences to his family and friends.

Sad. He was brilliant in "A Simple Plan".
It can't have been easy keeping a straight face with Billy Bob wearing Ken Dodd's teeth...

It was a cult film for me growing up too, but not particularly because of Bill Paxton. (-:

He was in so many great films, always a solid performer and stole every scene. Near Dark was probably my favourite performance of his.

^^^ That bit where he gets "strangled" in the bar - brilliant. And "how about a nice greasy pork sandwich served in a dirty ashtray?"

Genuinely a bit crushed about this one. He was one of those actors who always put in a great performance, no matter how good the film around was. In a lot more films than you realise too! I always liked it when I spotted him in something. By all accounts something of a legend off screen too! Survived by his wife of 30 years and two kids, a great loss 🙁

Aye. He's one of those actors, rarely a lead but in absolutely bloody everything.

I love that film, never knows quite what side of the line it is.

Thought this was sort of lovely in a ridiculous way

RIP, the man was killed on screen by a Terminator, an Alien and a Predator! Makes him a legend in my eyes!

Ah, just realised he was in one of my favourite films - "Near Dark" - watch that as a tribute to him. He's brilliantly evil in it.
RIP
