Retropie on a Pi400

Daughter has a Pi400, used for school work, bit of Minecraft (coding edition), and currently not much else.

I was thinking of buying some usb controllers, downloading Retropie, and then we'd have ourselves hours of retro gaming fun 😎

Looking into it you can dl Retropie for free, looks pretty simple to set up, but it doesn't actually come with any games. So then you have to spend a fair amount of time finding the game ROMs and installing them. Assuming they work ok.

Would to it just be easier to buy something like this...
https://amzn.eu/d/e2o60C k">Sonicon Preloaded RetroPie card + games

Seems to get decent reviews, and I'm happy to spend £25 to save myself some (maybe a lot?) of hassle.

Free Amiga games and others on that site. Abandonware etc.

If you fancy paying over the odds for a shit/fake SD card and something you can DL for free, and can’t be arsed to learn anything, go ahead 😀
Otherwise head over to ArcadePunks, pick whatever you fancy, buy a genuine Sandisk (from Amazon, not some random marketplace seller!), figure out how to use BitTorrent (a useful skill 😉) and away you go. It’s not rocket science, post up here or PM if you get stuck.
FWIW I’m not too fussed about all the console stuff but love the proper old-school arcade games. Joust FTW 😂 Have a 2 player arcade style controller which is awesome!

Downloaded RetroPie onto a Raspberry Pi recently. It was dead easy even for a tech novice like me. Getting the roms onto it is also easy.
