My ageing Macbook needs a new battery (part: ASMB016). Apple want somewhere in the region of £100. Non-OEM versions start at £25 from various laptop spares websites. Does anyone know of a reputable, non-house fire starting supplier or are Apple the only sensible option?
Cheers,
Paul
I got a non OEM one and it was shite, sent it back and got another somewhere else thats everything seemed to point towards being oem quality and has also not been brilliant (not very long life and showed as replace soon after about 6 months)
there appears to be a huge amount of rubbish ones out there and its impossible to tell from any of the amazon descriptions etc what you are buying.
Yeah, I imagine there must be half decent ones on offer. But, as you say, sorting the wheat from the chaff is the problem. I was hoping there was a like-minded penny pincher who'd struck gold and could recommend a specific source.
Cheers,
Paul
My original lasted a year. A genuine replacement lasted less. A cheapo 3rd party lasted maybe a month tops.
£100 is a bargain. They used to be more like 150.
My last laptop only cost 20 more than that.
