We have a 2012 Renault Kangoo and has recently developed a problem. The light for the dipped beam on the dashboard doesn't go off. The lights are off but this light on the dash remains.
I took it to a mechanic and he plugged it in to whatever he has to diagnose stuff but no error was flagged.
He checked cables and connectors for 2 hours but couldn't find anything.
Does anyone know what the issue could be?

Lights on when they shouldn't be on cars is usually a failed earth, but it's more typically seen on actual lights rather than a dash lamp.
I'd try an auto electrician rather than a general mechanic.

Water ingress into the lamp. Check housing connections and bulb holders. Electrical contact cleaner is fab for cleaning connections.
