Little one wants a remote controlled car from santa. Any recommendations for easy to use, robust for a 4 year old but something that he won't grow out of in a month or two. We've a decent sized garden but all gravel or grass so probably 4x4 / Jeep type would be better.
Oh... thread not about what I thought.

Pretty sure we can go down that tangent....

Risperdal is an antipsychotic medication given to kids who have extreme behavior problems like being very aggressive or angry. It’s sometimes used for kids with autism, ADHD or ODD (oppositional defiant disorder) who are acting out in dangerous ways. They might be hurting themselves or others or getting kicked out of school. In some cases it makes the difference between living at home or requiring residential treatment.
But Risperdal comes with serious side effects that....
...oh, a car. Yeah, something strong, simple and repairable or something in Lego if you want to play when he is bored
Sadly it doesn't really exist.
I find the best you can really do is with more-or-less subtle forms of mind control, along the lines of "If you don't stop shouting at me then Peppa Pig won't be going on" or "Will you stop shouting at me if I give you a biscuit?"

Ours came with neither option factory installed. I understand retrofitting is dealership only 🙁
Ours came with a whistle and pepper spray. Doesn't work.
LittleGinge got one of these about a year ago (when he was five) and he's still not managed to kill it yet despite some good efforts involving large static objects.
It might be a little fast initially for a four year old but there is a switch on the controller to limit the maximum speed a bit that helps. One thing to note is that when we got this one I did swap out the shocks for some oil filled versions as the stock ones are know for binding when they deg a little water/dirt in them. Probably cost about £10 for those.
If the delivery date on that one is a bit far out then you can probably pick up something similar like the FTX Tracer or Absima 1/16 models (these are the same as the Q901 but with a brushed rather than brush-less motor) from a store in the UK.

Whatever you do go for get an extra battery if you can as the ones in the models linked above only last for about 10-15 minutes.
Edit: Just re-read your last point. All of the cars I've linked above do pick up quite a bit of speed so may be much better suited to bashing around a park than being used in the back garden (depending on the size of the back garden). If you're after somehting slower that can be used in the back garden then a mini crawler might be a more sensible choice though these probably aren't quite as tough as the models I originally mentioned.

Don't know about full remote, but they definitely do fly-by-wire
