[#2343338]

Been spending way too much time on another forum looking at expensive cars and expensive watches.......lost my way a little and started obsessing over getting the aforementioned gubbins. Need to get back down to earth.......

So what are your favourite free things in life that put a big old smile on your face

Supper with the kids. They are messy, irreverent and loads of fun. Oh and very very cute.

+1 for sunsets. Tonights was spectacular over Fife. Clear sky with a crescent moon. Breathtaking.

Having a tidy workshop/garage makes me happy, having all the sockets in line and order, all the spanner in their place etc. Well stocked too makes me happy, spares in stock, grease gun full , Park Tool tools standing proudly and neatly.

Sad i know

To crush your enemies, to see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women.

The laughter of my lads (the oldest is nearly 30!)

I don't care about anything else in life if I am with them (preferably in a pub, with a good single malt and an open fire!) and hear their laughter .... simples ๐Ÿ™‚

Walking along an empty beach on a windy sunny day. Sitting outside a nice pub with a good pint watching the sun set then a nice steady ride back home in the twilight, and grabbing a huge bag of fish'n'chips on the way. Sitting in a field listening to skylarks singing their little heads off. Watching clouds.

Enjoying that eerie and absolute muffled silence you can only get when you're miles away from everything in heavy snow.

Slowly being woken up to the dawn chorus
Sound of water lapping against the hull of a boat
Sand between my toes
The feel and touch of a loved one

Other people's chips. Chips are nice, but nicking a chip off someone else's plate - tastes mighty fine!

You may end up with your wrist pinned to the table with a fork.

Check out Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi's 'Flow Theory', no enormous surprises but it's interesting to see the research he's put into it.

Glad I started this thread now, it's really cheered me up and distracted me from my materialistic existence.

Maybe I just need to go for a ride

The smell of your lover and the smile on her face when she is happy.

Breakfast with the children - I missed this for so long when I smoked as I was always outside or in the garage for a fag ๐Ÿ™

Smell of silence, silence of smell.
Walking on the beach looking for sea shells.
A quickie on top of the tallest dune.
Tea with cranberry syrup and a slice of lemon.
Lemon cake my missus baked 4 hrs ago.
