I agree with WCA's summary. In fact I have often put forward the same theory over the food / blood thing.
Getting offended by others opinions or actions when they can have no material effect on your own life is a hangover of the worst aspects of humanity. Its the root of racism and homophobia. Given its head (as for example in 'modern' ****stan) it can be weaponised to the point where people are in fear of their lives for holding views at variance with the majority.
Its also an impulse of which some people are weirdly unashamed, to the point where they'll go on a public forum and boast about their mental sensitivity.

It was 250 years later that Julius’s successor a few times removed, Pope Gregory, gave the job to Saint Augustine of converting the heathen Brits to Christianity.
Fortunately, with the birth of Christ now established as 25 December, it gave Augustine a bit of leverage with the population who were already marking several midwinter festivals, ensuring they could take this new-fangled religion on board without losing the annual December piss-up.
Technically speaking,it's a hate crime. If I damaged a cross because I disagree with xtians spouting drivel. The "baby on board" thingy on my car is there as an explanation why i'm driving down the road like a little old lady in case a poorly navigated pothole wakes my daughter up & I have to sing bloody nursery rhymes all the way home, otherwise she'll scream blue murder until we get home instead.
I honestly thought that is what the sign was for. I stand corrected though. I have two kids and no signage. Although to be fair it’s the single people that drive like ****s as they are more likely to be able to afford a ****ing Audi in the first place.

I deliver a public lecture on "reading the church". People are often fascinated by the arcana I introduce them to over the course of 90 minutes.
Heck, some even leave understanding that the choice of the 25th of December for Christmas is determined by the calculation of Easter which is, in itself, based on the symbolic date of the Spring equinox and Greek gestational theory... in other words, NOT a mere Christian rip-off of a pagan celebration. It was that too, but not nearly so much as people say on here.
