[Closed] Regular London excel users

Ive got an expo at the Excel and so will be travelling down from south of Brum. I was planning on driving but i never been to Docklands before and, after asking some work colleagues, i think driving to Excel would be a mistake. I also need to stop over as i will be out for a few beers in central London on the evening. Can anyone recommend an easy to get to hotel,that i can use as a base. Preferable something that can by driven to the close enough to the tube for popping to the Excel..cheers
